Join now >The Browns are trading quarterback Cody Kessler to the Jaguars, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The compensation is a conditional late-round selection in 2019 for the 2016 third-rounder. Kessler gives Jacksonville one of the best backup quarterbacks in the NFL, and it’s a good situation for him if he’s called into action. Kessler played well as a rookie in 2016 before Hue Jackson decided to bury him on the depth chart last season, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he ended up getting a shot as the Jags’ starter if Blake Bortles happens to struggle this season. Bortles should have a long leash after he helped lead Jacksonville to the AFC Championship Game, but anything can happen.

Sam Bradford “absolutely” wants to play in 2018, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Pelissero says that Dr. James Andrews believes everything should be good for Bradford’s knee after getting it cleaned up during last season, which is obviously what the former first-overall pick needs. A healthy Bradford should be the top quarterback on the market this offseason, and it will be interesting to see how teams value durability concerns with the elite arm talent. The Vikings, Cardinals, and Browns are expected to be among several suitors for Bradford.

Tight end Levine Toilolo is signing with the Lions, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Toilo spent the first five years of his carer with the Falcons after they drafted him in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He caught 74 passes for 723 yards and seven touchdowns in his five seasons, and his used as more of a blocking tight end at 6’8″. Perhaps Matthew Stafford and the Lions will use him as a receiver more, but Toilolo is off the fantasy radar for now.

Darren Sproles is leaning toward returning in 2018.
Sproles suffered both a torn ACL and broken arm at the end of September, so he’s had to watch the Eagles’ Super Bowl run from the sidelines. He told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that he doesn’t want to go out with an injury, stating “I want to go out on my own terms.” Before the year, Sproles indicated that this would be his last year, but it’s not surprising he’s leaning toward coming back after he was injured early in the season. After the injury it sounded like Sproles was seriously considering playing in 2018, and it doesn’t sound like that’s changed. He’s set to become a free agent this offseason.

The Saints are signing tight end Benjamin Watson, according to multiple reports.
It’s a one-year deal for the veteran tight end. Watson previously spent 2013-2015 with New Orleans and had the best season of his career in 2015 when he caught 74 passes for 825 yards and six touchdowns. The career year helped him earn a nice free-agent deal with the Ravens in 2016. Back in New Orleans, Watson might immediately supplant Coby Fleener as the main tight end for Drew Brees, which could be enough to deliver TE1 value in 2018. Watson is 37, but he is still playing well and had 522 yards and four touchdowns in Baltimore last season.

The Bills aren’t planning on cutting Tyrod Taylor, according to Ian Rapoport.
Buffalo is probably looking to trade Taylor if they are able to upgrade the position in free agency or the draft, but they aren’t going to outright cut their starting quarterback. As Rapoport notes, the Bills don’t have an issue paying the $6 million roster bonus Taylor is due, especially considering his $10 million contract should be appealing to teams interested in acquiring him. Taylor showed he’s a more than capable starter for a team that made the playoffs, and he’ll get a hard look as a starter someplace else if he doesn’t remain in Buffalo.

The Giants are asking for “at least two first-round picks” for Odell Beckham Jr., according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
If this report is to be believed, Odell Beckham Jr. could seriously be on the move. Two first-round picks is a lot, but there might be teams interested in making that deal; and if not, the Giants could certainly take less than two first-rounders, as this could be posturing to get as much as they can for their star wide receiver. Again, if this report is true, the fact that the Giants are telling teams what they want for OBJ indicates they are more than open to moving him. Until Beckham’s contract is extended, which the Giants don’t seem eager to make happen, rumors about a potential trade will swirl.
