Join now >The Jets are signing wide receiver Terrelle Pryor.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported this deal was likely to be finalized tonight, and it appears it has been after Rapoport tweeted that Pryor chose the Jets over the Seahawks. Pryor will join a crowded Jets receiving group that includes Robby Anderson, Jermaine Kearse, Quincy Enunwa, ArDarius Stewart, and Chad Hansen. The Jets have added a few receivers over the last several months, likely with the hope of the best players rising to the top of the depth chart and forming one of the best and deepest units in the league. Pryor didn’t play well at all for the Redskisn last season before landing on injured reserve with an ankle injury, but he did have 1,000 yards with the Browns in 2016 and has uncommon size and athleticism. As of now, he’s not a highly-recommended fantasy selection this summer.

The Dolphins are placing the franchise tag on Jarvis Landry, according to Ian Rapoport.
Miami is wasting no time securing their reception-machine for at least 2018, as Landry won’t be allowed to test the free agent market on the franchise tag. The 25-year-old receiver is now set to make about $16 million this year once he signs the tag, and he’ll remain a high-volume option in the passing attack of the Dolphins this season. Landry being out of the market is good news for potential free agent receivers like Allen Robinson and Sammy Watkins, thought it’s also possible the Jaguars and Rams tag them, too. Now, the Dolphins might still look to lock up Landry to a long-term deal, which they’ll have until the middle of July to work out otherwise he will play this season on the one-year franchise tag.

Steelers GM Kevin Colbert indicates the team isn’t negotiating with Le’Veon Bell right now.
Colbert is speaking at the NFL Annual League Meeting and says they still want to get a long-term deal done with their All-Pro running back, but that they are focused on free agency and the draft now. Bell has yet to sign his franchise tag, and he might not anytime soon. Colbert says he hopes Bell is at training camp with the team, but it appears the most likely scenario at the moment is Bell skipping training camp and showing up before the start of the regular season like he did in 2017. Despite some optimism expressed by both sides, the Steelers and Bell might both be dug-in enough that no long-term deal gets done this year.

Mike Gillislee (knee) was limited in today’s practice.
Had New England practiced yesterday, he would have been limited then, too. Gillislee probably has time to get up to a full practice ahead of the Super Bowl, but he probably won’t be active as a fifth running back anyway.

The felony vandalism charge against Zay Jones has been dropped.
Despite there being a video of the second-year Bills receiver naked and clearly not right, there was apparently not enough evidence to continue the case. Still, there might be reason to be concerned about Jones’ mental health after the situation. Hopefully he’ll put this behind him and is a big asset to the Bills on the field in 2018 and beyond.

Rob Gronkowski (concussion) did not practice on Friday.
Gronk has yet to clear the concussion protocol, and if the game was held this weekend the injury report says he would have been ruled out. Fortunately, the extra week before the Super Bowl should give him enough time to pass the protocol and get back on the practice field. New England won Super Bowl LI without their all-time great tight end, but they will need him against the Eagles. Unless he misses practice next week, Patriot fans shouldn’t worry.

Martellus Bennett has announced his retirement from the NFL.
Bennett played ten seasons in the NFL and was a member of the Cowboys, Giants, Bears, Patriots, and Packers. He caught 433 passes for 4,573 yards and 30 touchdowns in his career, and he was a member of New England’s Super Bowl XLIX team. Bennett says he’s now going to continue to commit more time to his multimedia production company, The Imagination Agency, which creates content for children. This announcement comes on the same day his brother and fellow NFL player, Michael Bennett, had a warrant issued for his arrest—which could potentially lead to ten years in prison for a felony assault of a disabled person after Super Bowl LI, Martellus’ championship with the Patriots.
