Join now >Sam Bradford told Mike Zimmer he’s past his knee issues.
Zimmer held his season-ending press conference today and didn’t give any updates on what the team’s plans are at quarterback, which is probably because the team isn’t sure what they’re going to do yet. There are worse problems to have, but it’s a difficult situation deciding what quarterback to move forward with. Zimmer has said Bradford is the best passer on the team, which might give him the nod if he is indeed healthy. However, Case Keenum and Teddy Bridgewater are both very good quarterbacks, too. The situation is a mystery, but if we had to guess, Bradford—if healthy—is their preferred choice, with the expectation of the offensive line making further improvements to give the quarterback time to dice up opposing defenses next season.

Marshawn Lynch is reportedly expected to remain on the Raiders in 2018.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Lynch is due a $1 million roster bonus tomorrow, which is an indication that he’ll remain on the roster. Rapoport also says it’s a “clear sign” that Lynch will be the team’s feature back. We wouldn’t be so sure about either of those things. While it appears Lynch will be on the team to start offseason training and potentially into training camp, if the Raiders don’t think he has it anymore or simply doesn’t fit with new head coach Jon Gruden, they’ll have no trouble cutting him. Also, Gruden isn’t the type to just hand him the starting job if he’s being outperformed by recent signing Doug Martin or someone else on the roster. Oakland’s backfield will be a situation to watch leading up to the season.

A young woman says she was “shoved and pushed” by Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt.
According to cleveland.com, a 19-year-old woman accused Hunt of assaulting her around 3:45 AM on Saturday, but one of Hunt’s friends says she was assaulted by the woman accusing Hunt. It’s unclear what exactly happens, but what does appear to be clear is that the woman making the accusations against Hunt and her friend were kicked out of the running back’s apartment—the Hunt camp says because it was found out they were only 19 and could not legally drink. The entire report can be read in the link below, and it’s possible the NFL launches its own investigation into the matter.

The Bengals signed quarterback Matt Barkley.
With A.J. McCarron now in Buffalo, Barkley is likely to be Andy Dalton’s backup this season. Barkley, who has spent time with the Eagles, Cardinals, Bears, and briefly the 49ers, has history with Bengals offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, as Lazor was the quarterbacks coach during Barkley’s rookie season in Philadelphia.

Jerick McKinnon says he wants to be “the guy.”
McKinnon told reporters he doesn’t “put in all the work in the offseason to come back and be in this role,” while adding the role worked out well but he wants “bigger and better things” for himself. The role certainly did work out well for McKinnon this year, as he formed an excellent backfield combination with Latavius Murray after Dalvin Cook went down for the year with a torn ACL in Week 4. McKinnon will hit free agency this spring, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be back in Minnesota unless other teams aren’t interested enough in giving him a large role. However, because running back is such a deep position and will be again in this year’s draft, it might not be extremely likely that McKinnon is able to find a team that’s going to pay him as the clear top guy in the backfield.

Danny Woodhead has retired from the NFL after ten seasons.
Woodhead made the announcement on his Instagram page with a nice statement thanking God and those that helped him be able to have a great football career. During his ten NFL seasons, Woodhead had 517 carries for 2,238 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns, along with 300 receptions for 2,698 receiving yards and 17 receiving touchdowns. Woodhead was one of the most-trusted backs in the NFL as a receiver and had some great seasons with both Tom Brady and Philip Rivers. The 33-year-old Woodhead seems to be fully prepared for the next part of his life, and we wish him the best of luck.

Johnny Manziel opens up to Good Morning America about his downfall.
The former Heisman winner spoke to ABC News’ T.J. Holmes in a rare and revealing interview in which he opened up about some of the issues he went through that eventually led to his release from the Cleveland Browns in 2016. Manziel did seem genuine in the interview, saying that his parents would have people come up to them and ask, “What the hell is your son doing?”, adding that his mom “just broke down” crying about it, which triggered him to see some of the consequences of his actions. The talented quarterback also said he’s been watching football players on the field while he’s sitting on the couch like a “loser.” Manziel says he’s not drinking, is on medication for bipolar disorder, and that his ultimate goal is to get back into the NFL. Again, Manziel appeared truly genuine in the interview, but he does have a “COMEBACK SZN” clothing line he just started to sell a couple of weeks ago and could be looking for publicity for that. He probably does sincerely want to get back in the NFL, and we believe he has the ability to play well in the league. However, he might need to prove he can commit to the game and stay out of trouble by playing in the CFL before an NFL team gives him another chance. Stranger things have happened, and Manziel should not be counted out just yet.
