Join now >The Cowboys activated Amari Cooper (ankle) from the PUP list.
This is a great sign as Cooper looks to get to 100% for Week 1. We’ll see if HBO’s Hard Knocks (which premieres tonight) gives an inside look at Cooper’s status leading up to the regular season.

Hunter Henry (shoulder) is expected to miss a couple of weeks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Schefter says the injury is “not serious,” but it’s still unfortunate that Henry will miss time as he acclimates to a new offense. This news opens the door even more for Jonnu Smith to be the tight end to own in New England, though Henry’s talent will certainly make him a TE1 candidate. Look for second-year tight end Devin Asiasi to get some run with the first-team offense in preseason action.

Washington placed Curtis Samuel on the PUP list.
Samuel was taken off the COVID list, which is great to hear; but his lingering groin issue is still keeping him out of practice and now onto the PUP list. This falls in line with what Washington head coach Ron Rivera said yesterday, indicating that Samuel is not particularly close to returning. Washington isn’t panicking about Samuel’s Week 1 status, but it would be nice to see him out there at some point this preseason.

The Patriots released Jake Dolegala.
New England has opted to move on from Dolegala, which is unfortunate timing for him with the preseason beginning this week. Dolegala will look to land elsewhere with a shot for some playing time this month.

The Falcons signed D’Onta Foreman.
The former third-round pick of the Texans spent time with first-year Falcons head coach Arthur Smith with the Titans, so there’s a relationship here. It’s an interesting addition for Atlanta, which has plenty of backfield depth including versatile receiver/returner/runner Cordarrelle Patterson. The Falcons running back situation is an interesting one heading into 2021.

Saquon Barkley (knee) is expected to be activated off the PUP list today, according to multiple reports.
Barkley is expected to be cleared and practice for the first time this training camp, which is obviously a great sign. The Giants have been clear that they will take things slow while keeping a long-term outlook in mind, so Barkley is definitely in a good spot. With slightly over a month until the Giants’ first regular season game, we’d think the star running back will be ready to go for Week 1.

D.J. Chark had surgery on a broken finger.
Chark is still expected to be ready for the opener, but he’s now obviously in danger of missing the entire preseason, which will hurt as he looks to gain chemistry with rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Chark is in a contract year, and he’ll be looking to show he can be a top option for the passing game in Jacksonville moving forward.
