Neither is Le’Veon Bell, according to Steelers offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert, who may or may not have been authorized to speak on the subject. This is a curious move considering the Steelers can take the top seed in the AFC with a win over the Browns paired with a Jets win over the Patriots, but they must believe the health of two of their best players is more important than potentially getting the top seed with them in the lineup (and they still can beat the Browns without Roethlisberger and Bell). Big Ben was looking like a fine fantasy option for Week 17, but now fantasy owners will have to look elsewhere.

Le’Veon Bell is reportedly not playing in Week 17.
Steelers offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert spilled the beans when he told Tribune-Review Sports’ Tim Benz that Bell and Ben Roethilsberger won’t be playing against the Browns on Sunday. Obviously, this is a huge risk on the Steelers’ part, as a win against Cleveland paired with a New England loss to the Jets would mean the Steelers are the top seed in the AFC. Perhaps head coach Mike Tomlin thinks they can beat the Browns without Bell and Roethilsberger anyway, but this is still la surprise. Fantasy owners will need to make other plans for Week 17, and Stevan Ridley could be thrown in there for a good amount of touches if the team wants to get him some more game reps heading into the postseason.

Mike Gillislee (knee) misses practice for second day in a row.
After missing practice yesterday and today, there’s now major concern for Gillislee’s Week 17 status against the Jets. It’d be a surprise if the Patriots played Gillislee without him getting in at least a limited practice tomorrow, but we’ll see how he’s listed on the injury report when it’s released.
12/28/17 - 04:18 PM ET
Chris Hogan (shoulder) was limited in today’s practice.
We’ll see how Hogan is listed on the official injury report when it’s released tomorrow, but he might not play if he doesn’t get a full practice in.
12/28/17 - 04:17 PM ET
James White (ankle) remains limited in practice.
White could probably play with just limited practices all week, especially while considering the running back position is banged up for New England, but it’d be nice to see him get a full practice in tomorrow. white would be in the FLEX conversation if active this week.

Rex Burkhead (knee) did not practice today.
Burkhead isn’t likely to play until at least the Divisional Round of the playoffs. He’ll likely be ruled out tomorrow.
12/28/17 - 04:15 PM ET
Sterling Shepard (neck) misses second straight practice.
It’s now not looking good for Shepard’s Week 17 status, but perhaps he’ll be able to get at least a limited practice session in tomorrow. We’ll see how he’s listed when the official injury report for the game is released in the next 24 hours or so.
