Join now >The Giants are signing Alfred Morris.
Likely because of COVID-19 protocols, the signing is expected to take place early next week. Morris spent time with the Giants last season, and the veteran running back is returning at age 32. He’ll look to earn a roster spot during camp.

Curtis Samuel has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Samuel is also dealing with a minor groin issue, so it’s not an ideal start to his first training camp with his new team. Hopefully the dynamic receiver is feeling better soon and can get out on the field in preparation for the start of the 2021 season.

Jarrett Stidham (shoulder) will miss a few weeks.
Surgery was reported to be an option for Stidham last night, but hopefully he will be able to make a complete recovery with rest—though this news from Bill Belichick essentially ends any chance the former Auburn quarterback had to win the starting job. Look for Cam Newton and first-round pick Mac Jones to battle in camp and preseason action to earn the Week 1 nod.

An MRI revealed that Dak Prescott is dealing with a muscle strain in his right shoulder.
Prescott’s arm was sore to begin camp, but this should just be a minor issue that keeps him out for a few days. It will be interested to see if fans get an inside look at the situation on Hard Knocks in a couple of weeks.

Jake Butt has retired from the NFL.
Butt—who stared at Michigan and was a big-time prospect before knee issues—was unfortunately never able to regain form, and his professional career ends with ten receptions for 90 yards (all with the Broncos). Overall, he tore his ACL three times, and it’s admirable that Butt worked to stick around for as long as he could since Denver took a shot on him in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. We wish him the best of luck in his post-playing life.

The Raiders placed Kenyan Drake on the non-football injury list.
Drake was working off to the side with a trainer to begin camp today. We wouldn’t expect this to be a long stay on the NFI for Drake, who isn’t thought to be dealing with anything too serious.

The Patriots claimed Jake Dolegala.
Dolegala was with the Patriots last season and to begin this offseason, so the familiarity is a plus. The 2019 undrafted quarterback is set to be a camp arm, but he’ll look to impress Bill Belichick and company and potentially win a spot on the practice squad.
