Join now >The Chargers have placed tight end Hunter Henry (kidney) on IR.
It was announced yesterday that Henry had a small kidney laceration and they were deciding how to proceed. Now, the second-year tight end’s season is officially over. Henry’s season ends with 45 receptions for 579 yards and four touchdowns, as it was a season with some up-and-down stat lines due to an inconsistent role in the offense. Henry had been featured more consistently down the stretch here, going over 50 yards in three of the last five games. For 2018, it’s possible future Hall of Fame tight end Antonio Gates retires, which would allow Henry to play closer to 100% of the snaps. Either way, Henry should be a more consistent producer next season and will be a solid TE1 option in fantasy drafts.

The Packers have placed Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) on Injured Reserve.
With Green Bay out of playoff contention and Rodgers probably at more of a risk of injury while dealing with his collarbone, the team will ensure their franchise quarterback is 100% for 2018. Rodgers’ season ends with 1,675 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, six interceptions, and a 64.7% completion percentage in seven games played. He also had 24 rushing attempts for 126 yards. Brett Hundley will start the final two games for the Packers, and he’s an extremely risky option against the stingy Vikings defense this Saturday night. For 2018, Rodgers will be among the top fantasy quarterback options and will be an early-mid round selection. He’ll be entering the season at 34 years old and will turn 35 next December, but Rodgers has indicated he wants to play several more seasons. Expect him to be his usual self when he hits the field next year.

The Steelers have signed running back Stevan Ridley.
This move coincides with the Steelers placing rookie running back John Conner (knee) on Injured Reserve. Ridley has a similar downhill style as Conner, but he has struggled to stick around anywhere since his ACL tear in 2014 when he was with the Patriots. The veteran running back played four seasons with New England, so he might give the Steelers some insight for a potential playoff matchup in January. On the field, he’ll fill in behind Le’Veon Bell and Fitzgerald Toussaint in the backfield for the Steelers.

James Conner (knee) is being placed on Injured Reserve.
Conner is undergoing knee surgery, but it’s not thought to be a serious reconstructive surgery that would keep him out for several months. However, Conner’s rookie season is now over. The third-round selection from Pitt had a very good rookie season while mixing in behind Le’Veon Bell, carrying 32 times for 144 yards (4.5 yards per carry). While it’d be a surprise if the Steelers didn’t do what they can to keep Le’Veon Bell around, Conner showed he’s someone that the Steelers can rely on in his limited action. The 6’2″ bruiser has excellent downhill running ability and a bright future in the NFL. If Le’Veon does happen to leave in free agency this offseason, Conner would be at least an RB2 selection in 2018 fantasy drafts.

Tevin Coleman remains in concussion protocol.
This is a bit of a concern, considering the concussion was suffered two Thursdays ago, but it’s still only Tuesday. Coleman has until Sunday to get cleared of his concussion and be out there for a huge NFC South matchup against the Saints. His status is one of the biggest to monitor throughout this week, for both real life and fantasy implications. Hopefully Coleman is feeling better soon, which is the most important thing.

Antony Auclair makes first NFL catch in MNF loss.
Auclair, who many may know from his time on HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ this year, is a rookie from Canada. His first career reception came in primetime and was a 14-yarder, and he will look to make many more over the next few years.

Charles Sims has highlight taken away in loss to Atlanta.
Sims caught four passes for six yards, but he had an impressive run-after-catch overturned because his knee was down at the start of his broken-tackle spree. Tampa Bay’s receiving back won’t be a fantasy option in Week 16 against the Panthers.
