Devonta Freeman totals nearly 200 yards in win over the Bucs.

Freeman rushed 22 times for 126 yards and a touchdown, adding five receptions for 68 yards through the air. The score was a 32-yard sweep where he just had to beat the safety, but for as good as the numbers look, Freeman left some plays on the field. First of all, he fumbled twice, including on a goal line plunge, but both were fortunately recovered by the Falcons. Also, he dropped what would have been a big gain over the middle in the first half. Still, he ran with violently with no fear, and should be a RB1 option for Week 16, even if Tevin Coleman (concussion) returns.

Matt Ryan, Falcons improve to 9-5 with 24-21 win over the Bucs.

Ryan was 17/31 for 212 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. He also rushed three times for 29 yards. Atlanta played through Devonta Freeman against a beat up Tampa Bay front, as he handled 27 touches for nearly 200 yards. The lone score for Ryan came on a six-yard pass to Justin Hardy, but he was mostly quiet after that. Heading to New Orleans on Christmas Eve for what should be a hotly-contested game, Matty Ice will be a mid/low-end QB1 option. The Falcons would win the NFC South with wins over the Saints and Panthers over the final two weeks of the season.

Cameron Brate (knee) has returned against Atlanta.

Brate is back in there in the second half, which is a great sign with teammate O.J. Howard ruled out for the game with a foot injury.

DeSean Jackson (ankle) is doubtful to return tonight against the Falcons.

It’s unclear when Jackson injured his ankle, but he was limping around a bit after a play in the first half (thought he did return to the game). Jackson probably won’t be back tonight. He had one reception for 11 rushing yards and one carry for seven receiving yards before leaving.

O.J. Howard (foot) won’t return tonight against Atlanta.

The early foot injury bad enough that Howard was ruled out to start the second half. Before leaving, Howard had the 30-yard touchdown reception where he was injured, as he was wide open for a short pass on the back side after play-action and used his great speed to take it up the sideline before diving for the score. Hopefully this isn’t a multi-week injury for Howard, but more information should become available by tomorrow.

O.J. Howard (foot) leaves Monday night game.

Howard was injured on a 30-yard touchdown, as it appears he might’ve strained the foot when diving for the end zone. The rookie tight end is currently in the locker room after getting looked at on the sideline, but hopefully he ends up being OK and able to return to this game. Teammate Cameron Brate is also out right now, as he’s dealing with a knee injury that he’s trying to walk off on the sidelines.

Cameron Brate (knee) is questionable to return against the Falcons.

Brate took a big from Falcons safety Ricardo Allen and appears to have suffered the injury on that play. Brate is currently walking around the sideline like he’s trying to walk it off, but it’s been several plays and he’s still out. O.J. Howard is being evaluated for a right foot injury, so Tampa Bay is short on tight ends right now. We’ll update you as more information becomes available.
