Join now >The Chiefs have selected Clemson wide receiver Cornell Powell with the No. 181 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Powell is one of the most underrated prospects in the class, but he lands in a home-run spot with the Chiefs, where he should immediately push for snaps as the No. 3/4 wideout. The age (24) and having just one year of big-time production is likely what pushed Powell down the board, though he took full advantage of his opportunity at Clemson and was previously stuck behind a bunch of talented wideouts. The full scouting report for Powell can be read below, but he’s a very smooth target that can separate and get vertical; especially catching passes from Patrick Mahomes, Powell will be one of the most underrated prospects in rookie drafts.

The Eagles have selected Memphis running back Kenneth Gainwell with the No. 150 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Memphis has suddenly turned into a bit of a mid-round running back factory, and Gainwell is the latest selection. He was a 2020 opt-out, but the big-play back rushed 231 times for 1,459 yards and 13 touchdowns two years ago, also adding a 51/610/3 receiving line. For Philadelphia, we anticipate Gainwell will be used primarily in a third-down, change-of-pace role to begin his career, but it will be interesting to see how he fits with Miles Sanders, who can obviously be a high-level receiver.

The Texans have selected Miami tight end Brevin Jordan with the No. 147 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Jordan is a strong and versatile tight end that can threaten the defense vertically and do damage after the catch, so this should be an exciting pick for the Texans early in Round 5 after he arguably could have been a Day 2 pick. To close out his Miami career, Jordan caught 38 passes for 576 yards (15.2 average) and seven touches last year, and he can play out wide or in the slot in addition to his in-line duties. The full scouting report for Jordan can be read in the link below.

The Saints have selected Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book with the No. 133 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
New Orleans took quite a while on the clock for this fourth-round pick, likely contemplating whether they wanted to pull the trigger on Book at this spot in the draft. Book is an interesting player that won a lot of games at Notre Dame, throwing for 8,948 yards and 72 touchdowns for the Fighting Irish. Saints great Drew Brees recently said that he was a fan of Book after watching him in college. While Book isn’t a highly skilled quarterback in terms of having a rocket arm, he’s athletic and finds a way to make plays. He’ll look to develop under Sean Payton and potentially compete for the starting role sometimes down the line if all goes well.

The Ravens have selected Oklahoma State wide receiver Tylan Wallace with the No. 131 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Wallace is a well-built perimeter target that can get deep and shows courage across the middle, so he should be an upside possession target for Lamar Jackson in Baltimore. The best year for Wallace came back in 2018 with 86 receptions, 1,491 yards, and 12 scores, but he remained productive with 900+ yards in his junior and senior seasons. It will be interesting to see how quickly Wallace will be able to transition after benefitting from open space in the Big 12; his full scouting report can be read in the link below.

The Panthers have selected Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard with the No. 126 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Hubbard had an historic 2019 campaign with 2,094 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns on 328 carries, but a sub-par 2020 season (and midseason opt-out) caused his stock to slip. The run blocking for Hubbard will be key, but he can hit the home run if given a crease, and Carolina is a good landing spot for him behind All-Pro Christian McCAffrey. The Canadian-born runner will hope to find a nice role where he can provide some juice off the bench, and he profiles as a quality late-round flier that could see his stock increase with a strong preseason.

The Lions have selected USC wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown with the No. 112 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
St. Brown is a physical receiver with inside-out versatility, and he was very productive in a shortened season for the Trojans—scoring seven touchdowns in just six games. As a sophomore the previous year, St. Brown went for a 77/1,042/6 line alongside Michael Pittman Jr., and he should have a quick role catching passes from Jared Goff as a short/intermediate target compared to some of the downfield threats for Detroit. The full scouting report for St. Brown can be read in the link below.
