Join now >The Giants have benched Eli Manning.
While given the circumstances on a 2-9 team with two younger quarterbacks on the roster this shouldn’t be a huge surprise, it’s still a shock that the two-time Super Bowl winner will now hit the bench. Manning’s streak of 210 consecutive games played will now end, and there’s a very real possibility he’s played his final snap with the Giants. A new coaching staff might decide keeping the veteran quarterback around in 2018, but it’s up in the air at this point, and this offseason will be very interesting.

Mark Ingram contained in Week 12 loss.
Ingram rushed 11 times for 31 yards and caught two passes for five yards in a 26-20 defeat. Los Angeles led throughout, so the Saints only ran it 16 times on Sunday. Ingram should be better next week against Carolina, but it’s a difficult matchup against the Luke Kuechly-led defense. Still, he’s earned every-week RB1 status.

The Giants have named Geno Smith as their starting quarterback.
This is a shocking move, as Eli Manning has started 210 consecutive games in a streak that dates back to 2004 and is one of the longest in NFL history. Head coach Ben McAdoo must believe Manning isn’t getting the job done, so he’s going with Smith against Oakland. We think the former second-round pick is a lot better than people in general believe and a good fit for the offense, but it’s still a surprise because of what Eli’s meant for the franchise. This move could save McAdoo’s job and gives Smith a chance to establish himself as a franchise quarterback for New York or someone else in 2018. As for this week, he’s immediately on the streaming radar in a great matchup with Oakland.

Joe Flacco plays mistake-free as Ravens improve to 6-5.
Baltimore’s pass offense couldn’t get much of anything going against the Texans tonight, but Flacco did enough to complement his team’s strong defense and win the game. Flacco was 20/32 for 141 yards and added six carries for 42 yards, including a 25-yard carry on a naked bootleg that sealed the game for Baltimore. The pass offense needs to start clicking before Flacco can be a reliable fantasy option. He gets the Lions in Week 13.

Jordan Reed (hamstring) still isn’t practicing.
The Redskins have another Thursday game after just playing on Thanksgiving, and not practicing today probably indicates Reed will have a tough time playing against Dallas. Tomorrow’s practice won’t really be close to a full practice—and he hasn’t gotten reps in a few weeks—so the Redskins might go ahead and rule Reed out tomorrow when the official injury report is released.

Tyler Lockett gets one touch in Week 12.
Lockett gained two yards on one carry and had no receptions against the 49ers. He might be able to get deep against the Eagles next week, but Lockett is risky in fantasy lineups.

Breshad Perriman doesn’t catch a pass in Week 12.
Perriman was targeted twice, including down the field on a back-shoulder throw, but he didn’t haul either in against the Texans. It was good to see the talented receiver active after he was a healthy scratch last week, though. Perriman is not a recommended fantasy option at the moment.
