Join now >The Texans are signing quarterback Matt McGloin, according to John McClain.
After Deshaun Watson’s unfortunate ACL tear, the Texans need another quarterback behind new starter Tom Savage. McGloin played at Penn State under Texans head coach Bill O’Brien, so the familiarity is obviously there and it’s a good fit.

Tavarres King scores in blowout loss.
It was a five-yard pass in the first quarter to tie things up at seven, but the Rams ended up dismantling the Giants by a score of 51-17. King finished with three receptions for 33 yards and the score. He can remain on the waiver wire.

Deshaun Watson did tear his ACL, according to multiple reports.
The fears have been confirmed, and Watson’s season will be over, as the Texans will no way have their treasured rookie franchise quarterback try to play through the injury. It’s a bitter end to an otherwise magnificent first NFL season for Watson, as he showed what made his college head coach Dabo Swinney warn people not to pass on him in the draft. Houston can find some slight comfort in knowing Watson will hit rehab hard and do everything he can to come back even better in 2018, and that they have one of the best players in the league to build around. His rookie season ends with 1,699 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns, eight interceptions, a 61.8% completion percentage, 36 carries, 269 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns in seven games (six starts). It’s still early, but Watson should certainly be considered a top-ten quarterback option in fantasy drafts next season.

A.J. Derby catches one pass in Week 9.
Derby’s lone reception, the only one by a Broncos tight end in the game, went for 11 yards. Derby might do some damage in a game next week in which the Broncos will likely need to score points again, as they face New England, but he’s not a recommended fantasy option.

Deshaun Watson is feared to have suffered a torn ACL today in practice, according to Ian Rapoport.
Wow. This is just simply awful news, as Rapoport reports Watson went down with a non-contact injury in today’s practice and they are getting an MRI to confirm the fears. Watson was in the middle of a spectacular rookie season, as he was tied for the NFL lead in touchdown passes (19) despite not starting the first game and already having his bye week. As we fully expected, Watson showed people he could play at an extremely high level in the NFL, and he’ll be a huge difference-maker for years to come. You really have to feel for the rookie quarterback and his team, as this is a real shame. While not nearly as important as the real-life ramifications for Watson personally, fantasy owners will likely have to look elsewhere for their QB1 for the rest of the season, pending the likely confirmation of a torn ACL after the MRI.

Sterling Shepard (ankle) returns to the lineup as Giants get blown out by the Rams.
In his return, Shepard caught five passes for 70 yards in a 51-17 defeat. The second-year receiver should be a volume-driven FLEX option against the 49ers in Week 10, but he doesn’t absolutely need to be owned on a spiraling New York team.

Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) was limited in practice.
Both the team and Sanders expect him to play this Sunday against the Eagles, and he’ll be out there barring a setback. We’ll see how Sanders is listed when the official injury report is released tomorrow, but it’s possible he’s off it entirely.
