Kerwynn Williams | Saints RB

Kerwynn Williams carries nine times for 22 yards in Week 2.

Though he was expected to lead the backfield in the absence of David Johnson (head coach Bruce Arians said he would be the starter), it was Chris Johnson (11 carries for 44 yards) that played better and received a couple more carries. Williams is worth rostering, but he’s really hard to trust in your fantasy lineup right now. Johnson might end up being the lead guy.

Derrick Henry | Ravens RB

Derrick Henry takes over backfield in Week 2 win?

Henry rushed 14 times for 92 yards and one touchdown against a tough Jacksonville defense, while DeMarco Murray rushed nine times for just 25 yards. Murray may have been dealing with a hamstring problem, but Henry looks like the better runner so far in 2017. The second-year back looks like he has standalone FLEX value in standard leagues as well as being a premium handcuff should Murray ever miss time. It might be wise to leave him on the bench against Seattle next week, though.

Chris Johnson | Retired RB

Chris Johnson leads the Cardinals in rushing in Week 2.

It was Johnson’ first game back after just being signed a few days ago, and he had to help fill in for David Johnson in the star running back’s first game missed of several over the next 2-3 months. Kerwynn Williams was expected to lead the backfield, but Johnson received more carries and was more productive. For the game, Johnson had 11 carries for 44 yards, and he’ll probably be the lead guy of the committee moving forward. He’s worth an add in standard leagues, though there are probably better FLEX options for Week 3 against the Cowboys.

Marcus Mariota | Commanders QB

Marcus Mariota was 15/27 for 215 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in Sunday’s 37-16 win over the Jaguars.

He added 24 yards on six carries. Mariota hit rookie tight end Jonnu Smith for his touchdown, and he didn’t have to do much with Tennessee relying on defense and Derrick Henry to dominate Jacksonville. The talented quarterback has another tough matchup with Seattle in Week 3, but at least it’s at home. Still, you should find another quarterback option if you can.

9/18/17 - 12:21 PM ET

Carson Palmer | Retired QB

Carson Palmer leads comeback in Cardinals’ Week 2 win.

In a game that Arizona was expected to potentially runaway with, the Cardinals struggled to get anything going offensively, scoring only three points in the first three quarters. Palmer helped lead the team back in the fourth, scoring ten points before the game headed to overtime and a Tyrann Mathieu interception basically sealed it. For the game, Palmer was 19/36 for 332 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The TD came on a deep ball to J.J. Nelson, while the interception came on a deep ball down the sideline in the second quarter that was picked off by rangy rookie safety Malik Hooker. The Cardinals offense needs to pick it up heading into a Monday Night Football matchup against the Cowboys in Week 3.

9/18/17 - 12:20 PM ET

Ed Dickson | Free Agent TE

Ed Dickson caught two passes for 26 yards in Sunday’s win over the Bills.

The biggest takeaway for Dickson was that Greg Olsen went down with a foot injury, and it turns out it’s broken and he will miss 6-8 weeks. That sets up Dickson as the starting tight end for the next two months, and while the role will obviously be scaled back from Olsen’s, he’s worth an add in fantasy leagues, especially because he starts with a matchup against New Orleans next Sunday.

9/18/17 - 12:16 PM ET

O.J. Howard | Free Agent TE

Rookie O.J. Howard catches first-career pass in his NFL debut.

Howard had a 17-yarder over the middle on his only reception in the Bucs’ Week 2 win over Chicago. Howard might not put up consistent numbers as a rookie, but he offers a ton of upside down the line as a freak athlete tight end with prototypical size.
