Join now >Tyler Eifert gets four targets in Week 2.
The big Bengals tight end caught three of his targets for 42 yards in the game, including a long of 22 yards. Eifert did catch a pass in the end zone for a would-be touchdown, but it was called back because Eifert committed illegal touching for being out of bounds before touching the ball. The Bengals have looked terrible on offense through two games, so Eifert should start putting up some better numbers when the offense improves. He gets Green Bay in Week 3.

John Ross barely plays in NFL debut.
On Cincinnati’s first drive of the game, Ross carried a reverse for 12 yards but fumbled and lost. Obviously, players need to hold on to the ball, but the defender put his helmet right on the ball to force it out with Ross going full speed. It appeared the rookie was benched after the fumble, and the carry was his only touch of the game. Giving the rookie another opportunity would’ve been good after we saw what Kareem Hunt did last Thursday after he fumbled on his first NFL carry, but hopefully Ross doesn’t lose confidence after the fumble and apparent benching.

Braxton Miller catches two passes in Texans’ Week 2 win.
The second-year receiver had three targets and had ten yards on his two receptions. On the first series of the game, Miller had a chance to come down with a deep throw down the sideline, but it looked like he mis-judged it and couldn’t quite time his jump. Miller isn’t a recommended fantasy option right now.

Tyler Ervin fills in at receiver for Week 2.
With only three receivers active for the Texans, Ervin got a lot of time in the slot against Cincinnati. It appears the second-year back played the most behind DeAndre Hopkins and Braxton Miller in that game, and he had the second-most targets (five). Ervin had three receptions for only 16 yards in the game. The Texans play the Patriots in Week 3, but Ervin will likely get less time on offense while remaining the team’s returner.

Giovani Bernard gets seven Week-2 touches.
Bernard mixed in with Jeremy Hill and Joe Mixon again, carrying five times for ten yards and catching two passes for 16 yards against the Texans. In a RBBC, Bernard’s upside is severely limited. He should probably only be rostered in PPR leagues.

Jeremy Hill gets six carries in Week 2.
Hill started the game but only had six carries compared to Mixon’s nine. He also added a two-yard reception. While Hill isn’t getting many opportunities, Mixon is outperforming him and will likely take over as the clear lead back at any moment now.

A.J. Green caught five passes for 67 yards in Thursday night’s loss to the Texans.
Green was targeted a team-high eight times, and his longest reception was a jump ball in the first half for 50 yards. It was a difficult matchup, but it got easier as the game went on as Jonathan Joseph and Kevin Johnson both got injured. Still, the Bengals’ offensive struggles held Green back, and they haven’t scored a touchdown in either of the first two games to start the season. Hopefully they figure things out with the extra days to prepare for Green Bay in Week 3; Green will be a solid WR1 in that matchup.
