Join now >Danny Amendola (head) is not practicing for the Patriots today.
Tomorrow will be one week since Amendola suffered his apparent concussion in the season opener against Kansas City. There’s still time for Amendola to get cleared and play on Sunday, but he Patriots likely won’t play him if he isn’t good to practice by Friday. New England could really use him in a potential shootout on Sunday against the Saints.

John Ross (knee) is listed as questionable for Thursday Night Football.
The rookie receiver practiced this week, so there’s definitely a chance he plays in the game against the Texans. Cincinnati might ultimately opt to hold him out on a short week, though. If so, Ross would certainly be ready by Week 3 in two Sundays.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh says Danny Woodhead (hamstring) will miss at least four weeks.
There were two different timelines yesterday, with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport saying 4-6 weeks and ESPN’s Adam Schefter saying 6-8 weeks. Woodhead’s return might ultimately hinge on whether the Ravens decide to put him on Injured Reserve (as a designated return player), which would keep him out for eight weeks. We should know more in the next few days, but Terrance West and Javorius Allen will handle most of the work in Baltimore’s backfield with Woodhead out.

Cardinals hope to have David Johnson back “by Thanksgiving or Christmas.”
Bruce Arians was on SiriusXM NFL Radio and gave the timeline. Adam Schefter reported earlier today Johnson is expected to miss 2-3 months because of his dislocated wrist which will require surgery, but it definitely sounds like it’ll be on the three month side of things. It’s really unfortunate to have one of the game’s best players set to miss almost the entire season in his third year. Fantasy owners need to try and get by without their first pick for a few months and get a lottery ticket back for the fantasy playoffs if they get that far.

Adam Schefter reports Danny Woodhead is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported earlier today that Woodhead is expected to miss only 4-6 weeks, but the 6-8 weeks is probably more accurate. Schefter says Woodhead is a candidate for IR, which could happen in the next few days. Expect Woodhead to miss at least six weeks with his bad hamstring injury that forced him to get carted to the locker room on Sunday.

Deshaun Watson is now the Texans starting quarterback, according to Ian Rapoport.
Tom Savage was the starter throughout the offseason and preseason and did not have much of a chance against Jacksonville on Sunday given the offensive line play, but it was only a matter of time before Watson took over. Watson will make his first-career start on a short week Thursday night against the Bengals in a primetime matchup. The all-time college great and national champion from Clemson has very much impressed O’Brien and the Texans since they traded up to select him with the 12th pick in the draft, and now they’ll hand him the keys to the team and see where he can take it. Despite the poor showing on Sunday from the Texans, they have a championship-caliber defense that gives them a chance to win now. The rookie Watson might take some bumps as he gets acclimated to playing in the NFL, but he has a chance to be a really great one. Watson is worth an add in fantasy leagues as someone that might be able to make an immediate impact and can also add some points rushing.

John Ross (knee) practiced fully today.
Ross was a limited participant on Thursday and Friday last week, but he couldn’t go on Sunday against the Ravens. A full practice to start the week indicates the rookie could be good to go for Thursday. The official injury report for the game will be released tomorrow, but Ross will likely be listed as questionable.
