Join now >Danny Amendola catches both targets in Week 3 preseason game.
Amendola had two receptions for 27 yards, with his best play coming on a 31-yard pass down the seam from Tom Brady. With Julian Edelman unfortunately looking to have suffered a potentially season-ending knee injury, Amendola might step up and get more playing time. Amendola is a great teammate that’ll do whatever the team needs him to do, so he’ll be ready if so.

Doug Marrone names Blake Bortles the Jaguars starting quarterback.
Bortles will be under center on September 10 for the season opener against the Texans. Bortles played well in Thursday’s preseason game against the Panthers after starting the second half, and the Jags are going with the third overall pick in the 2014 draft over veteran Chad Henne. If Bortles can somehow find the groove he had in 2015 when he threw for over 4,400 yards and 35 touchdowns, this would be fine for Allen Robinson and the other skill position players for the Jaguars, but it could prove to be frustrating if Bortles plays poorly. He was dealing with two shoulder injuries last season, though, and perhaps he’ll turn it on in the regular season and play great. In a ball control offense, Bortles probably isn’t worth a selection in the late rounds of fantasy drafts.

Andy Reid calls Spencer Ware’s injury a sprained knee.
Ware will get an MRI, but Ian Rapoport reports the ACL is believed to be intact and that Wate is not expected to miss the entire season. Of course, aware isn’t in the clear yet and we’ll have to see what the MRI says. Even if Ware’s ACL is fine, there could be enough damage to the knee that he misses a significant amount of time and/or the season. Hopefully it’s not as bad as it appears and Ware can get back on the field soon.

Russell Wilson lights it up through the air in Week 3 of the preseason.
Wilson was 13/19 for 200 yards and a touchdown in the exhibition against Kansas City. Aside from an underthrown ball that was nearly intercepted on a fade type of route, Wilson’s passes were pretty much right on point. Wilson’s best throw was probably a 39-yarder to Jermaine Kearse that he threw on the run and dropped right in the perfect spot. Wilson played into the second half in this game, and he’s almost certainly done for the preseason. He offers high-end QB1 upside as a mid-round quarterback.

Kareem Hunt carries nine times for 39 yards in third preseason game.
The rookie running back was splitting time on the first-team offense with Spencer Ware, but unfortunately Ware went down with a potentially serious knee injury and was carted off. If Ware’s injury is as serious as it appears, Hunt will step right in as the clear lead back for the Chiefs. The rookie looked very good this preseason, including tonight against Seattle, and his ADP (which is already in the top 100) might rise a ton in the coming days.

Chiefs offense struggles through the air in Week 3 of the preseason.
The pass defense of Seattle played well, limiting Smith to 7/17 for 44 yards. Albert Wilson dropped a high pass, and Travis Kelce dropped a pass over the middle, so that didn’t help. Some people might overreact to this one preseason game, but Smith’s job is not in jeopardy. It’s possible Andy Reid decides to play him some in the Week 4 preseason game next week but probably not, as the Chiefs play the Patriots in the opening game of the season on Thursday, September 7.

Golden Tate catches all five targets in preseason game.
The veteran receiver had five receptions for 62 yards, including a long of 22 yards, but he did also lose a fumble when Patriots corner Malcolm Butler punched the ball out. Tate should be done for the preseason, and he enters the regular season as one of the better PPR options at receiver.
