Join now >Brady and Pats carve up the Lions in Week 3 of the preseason.
The Patriots opened the game looking about as good as you can expect, going right down the field for a touchdown before opening up a 24-0 lead. Brady was 12/15 for 174 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. The interception came on the final play for Brady, who exited late in the second quarter, and played about as well as you can expect before that. The bad news is receiver Julian Edelman suffered a knee injury and it’s unclear what the severity of the injury is. Hopefully Edelman ends up being OK, but either way Brady will be an excellent QB1 in 2017.

Tyler Lockett is not playing in tonight’s preseason game against the Chiefs.
Lockett participated fully in team warmups, but the Seahawks aren’t putting him out there in the exhibition. Lockett probably won’t be playing in Week 4 of the preseason either as the focus is on keeping him 100% for the start of the regular season.

Spencer Ware goes down with knee injury in Chiefs’ third preseason game.
Ware was splitting time with rookie Kareem Hunt on the game’s first drive before suffering a non-contact knee injury and getting carted off of the field. Hunt will handle the bulk of first-team work for however long Ware will be out, which unfortunately looks like it could be an extended period of time. Ware was already ruled out for game, and we’ll update you when more information becomes available.

The Patriots say Julian Edelman has a knee injury and is questionable to return.
It did appear to be a knee injury after Edelman grabbed at it, and this confirms it. After hopping off the field on his own, Edelman was carted off to the locker room, which probably isn’t a great sign. It’d be a shock if Edelman returned to the game, despite the questionable tag. More information on the severity of Edelman’s injury should become available in the coming hours.

Julian Edelman limps off in exhibition against the Lions.
Tom Brady promptly targeted Edelman for three long gains on the first drive of the game for the Patriots, but Edelman came up limping and grabbing at the side/back of his knee on his third reception. Because he’s a very tough guy, Edelman hopped off the field under his own power, but it definitely looked like his knee moved unnaturally before contact. Hopefully it ends up being nothing; but, again, Edelman is an extremely tough dude and him getting up on his own doesn’t mean this isn’t a potentially serious injury. We’ll update you when there is more information available.

Julio Jones is expected to play in tomorrow’s preseason game against Arizona.
Todd McClure of ESPN reports Jones will get “a few” reps in the exhibition. Julio said yesterday that he feels “good” and made it sound like he’ll get some action in the game. He’s 100% after getting offseason foot surgery, but the Falcons wisely took things slow and didn’t put Jones out there in Week 1 or Week 2 of the preseason. Look for the star receiver to be out there for about a series versus the Cardinals.

Jordan Reed might play in Washington’s preseason game on Sunday.
Head coach Jay Gruden was asked about Reed and linebackers Junior Galette and Ryan Anderson playing in the Redskins’ third exhibition, answering: “They’re going to suit up in pregame and we’ll see where they are,” while adding Reed looks “good.” It sounds like there’s a good chance Reed is out there against the Bengals, but he’ll be a great TE1 selection in your fantasy draft even if he doesn’t play.
