Join now >Emmanuel Sanders is back practicing for the Broncos.
Sanders missed a couple practices and last Saturday’s preseason game with a shoulder injury, but he’s 100%. Though Sanders has dealt with shoulder injuries in the past, this wasn’t a serious issue. He’ll probably be out there for the important third preseason game this Saturday against the Packers.

Matt Forte is practicing today.
Forte missed a couple weeks of practice with a hamstring injury, but he’s obviously getting close to 100%. Jets head coach Todd Bowles was noncommittal when talking about Forte’s Week 1 status yesterday, but it’s clear he just didn’t want to commit to anything while Forte was off the field. Assuming everything remains fine with Forte, he’ll certainly be ready for Week 1. Forte and teammate Bilal Powell could both get around 15 touches per game this season as the best players on the Jets offense.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson says expects LeGarrette Blount to be a big part of the offense.
There have been recent reports that Blount has been overweight and is in danger of being cut, but it sure doesn’t sound like it. Pederson said of Blount: “I mean, the guy’s a beast of a runner. I don’t know what else to tell you. You know, 18 touchdowns, 15 in the red zone last year—that’s the production. You saw yesterday the style of running that he can do… I’m excited he’s here and he’s going to be a big part of our offense.” Pederson also indicated the team might not be putting some players like Blount in the best place to succeed in the preseason, because they are not really game-planning or anything. Despite reports over the last couple of days, there wasn’t much doubt Blount would make the team, but this confirms it. He’ll lead the Eagles’ running back committee in 2017.

Cam Newton is “on track” to play in third preseason game.
Panthers head coach Ron Rivera is happy with Newton’s progress as he works his way back from shoulder soreness and expects his quarterback to be out there on Thursday night against the Jaguars. It’ll be great for Newton and the offense to be out there together in the “dress rehearsal” preseason game so they can get something going heading into the regular season. Newton is safe to draft if you are having your fantasy draft before then.

Bills HC Sean McDermott says Jordan Matthews is on schedule to play in Week 1.
Matthews is dealing with a chip in his sternum, but it certainly sounds like he’ll be good to go for the opener in two-plus weeks. With Anquan Boldin now retired, even more targets could be headed Matthews’ way in 2017. Rookie Zay Jones and others are in the mix, but Matthews has a good chance to lead the Bills in targets this season, which could lead to a good return on his fantasy value. Matthews is currently going well outside the top 40 receivers in fantasy drafts.

Kenyan Drake is out of concussion protocol.
The second-year back is practicing in joint practice with the Eagles. Hopefully he’s able to play in the Dolphins’ important third preseason game on Thursday against Philadelphia. Drake is battling with Damien Williams for the main backup job behind workhorse Jay Ajayi.

Latavius Murray might play in the Vikings’ third preseason game.
The big and athletic 6’3″ pounder has been practicing with the team after he was taken off the PUP list, but Murray still hasn’t played in a preseason game with the Vikings. Head coach Mike Zimmer said “maybe” when asked if Murray will be cleared to play for Sunday’s “dress rehearsal” third preseason game against the 49ers. Because he’s played so well with Murray out, rookie Dalvin Cook is the clear starter for the Vikings, but Murray can certainly take some work in the backfield—including potentially goal line work. Ideally, we’ll see him out on the field Sunday night.
