Join now >Demarcus Robinson catches one pass in preseason opener for the Chiefs.
His reception was for seven yards. Robinson did also get free for a potentially long touchdown, but rookie Patrick Mahomes II surprisingly underthrew him so it was only 40 yards, but it was wiped out by a holding penalty anyway. Robinson will be a contributor for the Chiefs offense this season, but he probably won’t deliver much fantasy value unless Tyreek Hill and/or Chris Conley were to miss time.

T.J. Yeldon leaves preseason game against the Bucs with a hamstring injury.
Obviously this isn’t good for the third-year back, as he’s dealt with injuries through his first two NFL seasons. The team is calling Yeldon questionable to return with the injury. Leonard Fournette is already out with a foot issue, so Chris Ivory will handle most of the first-team reps in the game if Yeldon doesn’t return.

Elijah McGuire starts preseason game for the Jets.
With Matt Forte and Bilal Powell out, the rookie McGuire received the first snaps of the game and looked pretty good, though his first ten-yard run was called back by a holding penalty. He ended up with six carries for seven yards and appears to be the clear number three behind Forte and Powell.

Cam Newton is not expected to play in the team’s preseason game on Saturday, according to Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport says Newton is expected to play in the team’s third preseason game next Thursday. The reporting is kind of stating the obvious—the Panthers aren’t going to rush Newton back and force him to play this week, but he should be good to go for the dress rehearsal game next week as long as he doesn’t have any type of setback. Newton is currently going outside of the top five quarterbacks in fantasy drafts, and he’ll almost certainly remain somewhere in the 6-10 range for your draft.

DeSean Jackson catches six-yard pass in first exhibition with Tampa Bay.
Jackson was lined up all over the formation, which should be a good sign for his fantasy outlook in 2017. He will still likely be a boom-or-bust play on a loaded Bucs receiving core, but time in the slot could make him a little more consistent.

Jay Ajayi is expected to play in tonight’s preseason game against the Ravens.
Ajayi was cleared of his concussion earlier this week, and he’s clearly 100% if he’s playing in this game. Kenyan Drake, who now has a concussion, was already ruled out for the game, though. It’ll be good to see Miami’s starters, including quarterback Jay Cutler, out there tonight.

Tyreek Hill catches long pass on first play of preseason game.
On the first play for the Chiefs against the 49ers, Alex Smith looked deep for Hill and hit him on a 32-yard pass. Smith admitted it might have been a touchdown if he threw the ball a little more inside. Hill is locked in as Kansas City’s number one receiver, and he’s one of the most polarizing players in fantasy heading into drafts—some believe he has major breakout potential, while others believe he can’t be a top receiver.
