Grant catches 17-yard catch in preseason opener.

The 26-year-old is battling with Brian Quick and a couple younger guys for snaps behind Jamison Crowder, Terrelle Pryor, and Josh Doctson. The Redskins play the Packers in next week’s preseason game, and Grant will hope to make some plays against a weak secondary.

K.J. Maye catches five-yard touchdown in preseason opener.

He caught the TD in the third quarter from Jimmy Garoppolo. Maye is a 2016 undrafted receiver from Minnesota, and it’s nice to see him play well for the Pats as he tries to put some good plays on film.

Jakeem Grant catches two passes in Week 1 of the preseason.

The second-year receiver had eight yards on the two receptions and he also returned three punts, but didn’t do much damage there. Grant is a dynamic player, but his roster spot probably isn’t locked in yet.

Francis Owusu scores in opening preseason game for the Dolphins.

The undrafted rookie from Stanford had two receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown. The TD was on a nice catch in the end zone. Owusu never topped 200 yards in a season at Stanford as he battled some injuries, but he does have good athletic ability.

Pryor commits ugly drop in Redskins debut.

Washington’s new receiver was in the game for just a few plays, but he heard footsteps from safety Eric Weddle and dropped a pass on an intermediate route over the middle before resting for the night. Pryor’s ADP seems to be getting a little out of control, and last night wasn’t a great start to building trust with Kirk Cousins.

Rookie receiver Demore’ea Stringfellow catches go-ahead TD in Week 1 of the preseason for the Dolphins.

The undrafted rookie from Ole Miss caught a 99-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to put Miami ahead of Atlanta. He made a nice over the shoulder catch, made a guy miss, and was off to the races. Stringfellow ended up with two receptions for 116 yards and the touchdown. He clearly has the ability to stick around on the Dolphins.

Damien Williams carries six times in Dolphins’ preseason opener.

He had 18 yards on the six carries, but did look good on his ten-yard run. Williams is a versatile player as a bigger back, and he’ll chip in on offense again in 2017.
