Perine rushed six times for 15 yards, fumbling once and dropping a pass as the Ravens dominated Washington on Thursday night. The rookie was fortunate to recover his own fumble, but we know Jay Gruden won’t tolerate the ball being put on the ground, especially out of a first-year player. Perine looks to clearly be behind Rob Kelley, but we still like his chances to make an impact in 2017.

Kelley works as clear starter in preseason opener.
“Fat Rob” rushed three times for two yards, but overall, it was a good night for his fantasy prospects, as fourth-round pick Samaje Perine struggled. Barring a significant change, Kelley’s ADP in the 90s should quickly climb as we get closer to the regular season.

Colt McCoy was 6/13 for 40 yards and one interception in Thursday night’s preseason opener.
The Redskins did not look good as a team in the exhibition, losing 23-3 to Baltimore. McCoy should have an easier time next week against the Packers, but his job backing up Kirk Cousins is safe.

Mohamed Sanu plays in preseason opener.
Julio Jones and Taylor Gabriel didn’t play in the game against the Dolphins, but Sanu played for a short time. He had a nice five-yard catch at the sideline on an out route.

Austin Hooper had one reception for 12 yards against Miami in Atlanta’s first preseason game.
Atlanta’s projected starting tight end has some breakout potential as he enters his second season. He certainly showed flashes in 2016 as a member of the number one Falcons offense.

Tevin Coleman barely plays in preseason opener for the Falcons.
Coleman had a carry on a short-yardage situation, but that was it. Coleman and the Atlanta starters that played were only in the game for a short time. They’ll probably get some more time next Sunday against the Steelers.
8/11/17 - 11:15 AM ET
Kirk Cousins throws two passes in preseason opener.
Cousins was 1/2 for five yards, with the incompletion being a drop by Terrelle Pryor. The Redskins didn’t have Jordan Reed or Jamison Crowder playing, so it was a predictable short outing for their starting quarterback. Cousins should play a little bit more in the second preseason game against the Packers.
