Join now >Quincy Enunwa’s season-ending neck injury is a bulging disc.
He’ll be out 6-9 months, but fortunately it isn’t believed to be career-threatening. Still, it’s hard not to feel terrible for Enunwa, as neck injuries are no joke and he had a prime opportunity as the number one receiver on the Jets. The good news is Enunwa should be good to go for offseason activities in 2018.

Wendell Smallwood is impressing at Eagles camp.
All accounts from those at the team’s practices seem to be hyping the second-year back and his improvement from last year. Smallwood himself said he wasn’t in shape last year, probably implying he wasn’t ready for the rigors of a 16-game NFL season. The Eagles have a lot of running backs, including LeGarrette Blount, Darren Sproles, Corey Clement, and Donnel Pumphrey, and workloads are up in the air for the team. Blount has missed the last few practices because of personal reasons, so Smallwood is getting more opportunities with him out. This backfield is one to watch this preseason.

Jordan Matthews is expected to lose playing time this season.
Third-year receiver Nelson Agholor has been tearing it up throughout the spring in training camp, with some of that coming in the slot—Matthew’s position. Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich said “every spot’s up for competition,” and without being prompted, according to Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer, brought up Agholor and the fact that he’s been making plays out there. The best guess is Agholor works both inside and outside as the team’s number two receiver behind Alshon Jeffery, with Matthews’ playing time varying depending on where Agholor is lined up on a given play. The situation is one to watch this preseason, but Matthews might not end up having much fantasy value in 2017.

Mark Ingram wants to show he’s “the best complete back in this game.”
According to ESPN, Ingram said he’s always been good at catching the football but wasn’t used that way earlier in his career; he added he’s now getting a chance to show what he can do as a receiver and “proving” he can be up there with the best receiving backs in the league. Ingram did rack up 96 receptions over the last two seasons and has shown he is very reliable as a receiver for Drew Brees. The 27-year-old said “you know Le’Veon Bell, David Johnson, I feel like I can do the same thing that those guys do, given the opportunity. So that’s my mindset, that’s my goal. I want to be the best back in this league.” With Adrian Peterson and third-round pick Alvin Kamara also in the Saints backfield, it’s hard to see him getting the amount of work Bell and Johnson get; but he will be a great contributor to the offense as an all-around player out of the backfield. He’s currently going in the 5th/6th round of fantasy drafts.

Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham dropped 20 pounds for the season.
This is an excellent sign for Graham, who says “it’s almost a hundred times [better than last year].” Graham said he took advice from future Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez, who told him to lose weight as he gets older. It certainly worked for Gonzalez, who had five excellent seasons with the Falcons in his age 33-37 seasons to end his career. Naturally, Graham should be able to move easier and faster after dropping that much weight. He’s currently being drafted as a mid-range TE1, and he should certainly be able to return or exceed that value if he stays healthy.

Mike Wells of ESPN believes Chester Rogers has separated himself from Phillip Dorsett.
Wells covers the Colts for ESPN and says Rogers has worked as the third receiver next to T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief in three-receiver sets throughout training camp. Rogers “had one of the best offseasons of any player on the Colts roster,” according to Wells, which lines up with what the team was saying during the offseason. The 2015 first-rounder Dorsett and free agent acquisition Kamar Aiken aren’t going away, but Rogers is the heavy favorite for the third receiver spot on the Colts.

Josh Doctson has a “slight pull” in his hamstring.
The MRI on the second-year receiver revealed this, and he’s day-to-day. It could be a lot worse, as hamstring injuries can be week-to-week injuries. Doctson, the team’s first-round pick last year, is looking to emerge as a great target for quarterback Kirk Cousins.
