Join now >Multiple reports: The Dallas PD has suspended the investigation involving Ezekiel Elliott from over the weekend.
Elliott was not ever named a suspect, but he was placed around the altercation by multiple witnesses, with some saying he threw the punch that knocked the victim out. The Dallas PD said in a statement that they have been unable to contact the victim after multiple attempts, and the case has been suspended “due to the lack of a complaint.” This should be the end of this case legally for Elliott, but the NFL is still looking into it and we would guess they take it into account when weighing a potential suspension for the star back.

Redskins running back Keith Marshall is out for the season, according to John Keim.
Marshall was carted off the field at practice yesterday, and Keim reports he tore his patella tendon. It’s very unfortunate news, and it’s Marshall’s second straight season being sent to IR. The 23-year-old also battled injuries throughout his career at Georgia, so it’s hard not to feel for him. Hopefully Marshall can get healthy and go on to have a productive NFL career.

Ian Rapoport says surgery is not on the table for Mike Williams.
Rapoport cites “two sources with direct knowledge” who say it is “NOT on the table now.” According to Rapoport, surgery was being considered 3-4 weeks ago, and Williams is improving. So it appears we have conflicting reports over whether Williams’ rookie season could end before it starts. The team should shed light on the situation soon.

Bucs GM Jason Licht told ESPN Doug Martin is not guaranteed starting spot when he returns from suspension.
Martin is suspended for the first three games of the season, and Tampa has a few backs capable of filling in. Licht said they like the committee of Jacquizz Rodgers, Charles Sims, Peyton Barber, and rookie Jeremy McNichols to fill in while Martin is out, but “somebody can kind of jump out there” and runaway with the job. Martin told ESPN he understands the situation, but said if he shows the “2012 Doug…2015 Doug…everything else will fall into place.” The former All-Pro is expected to return as the starter when he comes back from suspension, but anything can happen if someone else plays lights out while Martin is suspended—it’s why Martin is going in the later rounds of some fantasy drafts.

Mike Garafolo reports Chargers receiver Mike Williams is “feeling better” after his second epidural.
Garafolo also says Williams has resumed running this week, but will start camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list. In light of Adam Schefter’s report of Williams potentially missing the entire season, Garafolo calls this a “glimmer of good news.” Running is obviously a good sign, so hopefully the rookie receiver can continue to progress and hit the field this season for LA. Keenan Allen, Tyrell Williams, and Travis Benjamin are likely to open training camp as the Chargers’ top three receivers, with Dontrelle Inman also working in as a capable and trustworthy guy for Philip Rivers.

The Ravens have signed tight end Larry Donnell.
Donnell was a free agent after spending four seasons with the Giants. After a 63-catch, 623-yard, six-touchdown 2014 season, Donnell battled a neck injury in 2015 and saw his role decrease in 14 games last year. The Ravens have had very bad luck with injuries at tight end, and Donnell will have a chance at making the final roster.

Packers receiver Geronimo Allison has been suspended for one game, according to Adam Schefter.
The second-year receiver violated the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. This almost certainly comes from Allison’s misdemeanor marijuana charge from earlier this year. Some character issues are reportedly part of the reason Allison went undrafted in 2016, so hopefully he can get it together off the field. He’ll miss a big game in Week 1 versus Seattle.
