Join now >Vikings running back Latavius Murray hopes to start for the Vikings.
Murray was on "Good Morning Football" and said he realizes that while he missed OTAs while recovering from ankle surgery, that he's a veteran that has played in the league and has a lot to bring to the offense. He also said that from rookie Dalvin Cook's perspective that he probably wants to be "the guy" too. Murray made it clear that he'll be helping Cook as much as he can and understood why the Vikings would take the first round talent as Cook slipped to the second round. The former Raider did make it clear hopes to be in the backfield to start the game for Week 1 on Monday Night Football versus the Saints, something he almost certainly expected he'd be doing when he signed with the team. The first step is getting healthy for training camp, which Murray is expected to be ready for around the start of.

Tevin Coleman put on 10-15 pounds compared to last season, according to Pete Prisco.
Coleman is 6'1" and listed at 210 pounds, so 220-225 pounds is about where Coleman is at. A lot of running backs struggle when putting on extra weight, but considering he's a 24-year-old, hopefully it's just him still putting on muscle. Coleman is one of the fastest and most explosive backs in the NFL (his 13.6 yards per reception last season were the most by a running back in the last 15 seasons), so if he can keep that ability with the added weight, he'll be a load to handle for opposing defenses. The third-year back, despite having Devonta Freeman in the backfield with him, should be at least a solid RB2/FLEX to open the season.

Vikings GM Rick Spielman releases statement in support of Michael Floyd.
This was expected. The team supports their new receiver and he’ll be there at the start of training camp on July 26. The former first-rounder could emerge as a key target for Sam Bradford.

Redskins "to place more on Docton's plate" in training camp.
The team was working Doctson along slowly after his recurring Achilles issues forced him to be placed on IR this past October. Teammate Ryan Grant has been getting a lot of first team reps on the outside, but it sounds like Doctson will get more opportunities in training camp. Jamison Crowder and Terrelle Pryor are likely to be locked in as the first two receivers and play in two receiver sets, but Doctson could be a starter opposite them. Both Doctson and Grant should get a good amount of playing time this season, but Doctson is likely to work his way into a larger role if he is healthy.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank expects a contract extension for Devonta Freeman to get done "soon."
Blank was on 92.9 The Game (Atlanta Sports Radio) and expressed optimism, but said it's up to head coach Dan Quinn and GM Thomas Dimitroff. Everyone has said they are optimistic a deal will get done, and it's definitely possible it happens before training camp.

Michael Floyd releases statement regarding TMZ Report.
Floyd's statement explains that he had 96-day home monitoring and passed the first 90 days with a B.A.C. of 0.0 for all 500 tests that he took. The statement claims Floyd drank "several bottles of kombucha tea drinks, unaware that the drinks contain alcohol." Floyd failed four tests then fell asleep for a fifth that morning. The story kind of does check out because he passed 500 tests and it would be incredibly stupid to blow it six days away from the 96 days to end. But it could also be an excuse for a relapse. Now it's up to the courts to decide on June 26.

Michael Floyd gets one day of jail for violating his house arrest.
Floyd, who violated probation by having a high B.A.C. from what he and the team claim was kombucha tea, was found to be in violation of his probation and is sentenced to a day in jail, then he has to finish of the five days left of his house arrest. Ideally, Floyd wouldn't spend a day in jail, but the good news is this situation is sorted out and he won't have any sort of punishment that will affect his standing with the Vikings. Floyd is likely to be the Vikings' fourth receiver behind Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, and Laquon Treadwell this season.
