Carr tweeted: "Nothing done yet… trust me you will hear it here first," amid the report by Adam Schefter that the deal is close to being finalized. So we will update you when we hear it from Carr, who has the scoop on his own negotiations, directly.

Derek Carr sees a more aggressive Amari Cooper this year.
The Raiders quarterback says "the dog" in Cooper is coming out, and that the third-year receiver is looking like he did at Alabama, where "he'll just take things over." Carr said, "we were kind of just laughing at how impressed we were" with Cooper this offseason. When you're laughing about how impressive someone is, they are probably pretty impressive. The young receiver has a great work ethic and mindset—he has a very high floor and offers top five WR upside this season.

The Raiders and Derek Carr are close to a record deal, according to Adam Schefter.
Schefter says the deal is expected to pay Carr about $25 million per year and could be announced by as early as the end of this week. Carr is deserving of a big contract after his MVP-caliber 2016 season in which he threw for 28 touchdowns and just six interceptions and led the Raiders to the postseason before a broken leg ended his season in Week 16. If he reaches a salary of $25 million, Carr would surpass Andrew Luck's record of $24.6 million. Entering his age-26 season, Carr could be even better than last year, as Oakland added Marshawn Lynch, Jared Cook, and Cordarrelle Patterson to the offense. It sounds like a deal will be coming barring a complete breakdown between the two sides, so Carr should be able to have his mind at ease heading into 2017. He is one of the better fantasy quarterback options in the mid-to-late rounds.

Bengals rookie running back Joe Mixon has looked "like a beast."
A "Cincinnati staffer" said this to MMQB's Albert Breer. This isn't surprising, as Mixon was a legit top ten talent that dropped in the draft because he punched a woman when he was an 18-year-old freshman at Oklahoma. On the field, there's not much doubt the Bengals got a steal. Mixon is an excellent combo of size, speed, and athleticism; and he profiles similarly to All-Pro running back David Johnson. The former Oklahoma Sooner could be an immediate big-time fantasy contributor as a rookie.

On the "Candidly Cowboys" podcast, Cowboys RB coach Gary Brown says they're going to get Zeke more involved in the passing game.
Brown said they would "absolutely" give him the ball more through the air. Elliott had only 32 receptions last season, but certainly made the most of them, averaging 11.3 yards per reception. While he might be the receiver David Johnson or Le'Veon Bell is, Elliott is a very good receiver out of the backfield. The second-year back, who had 354 touches last season, might get even closer to 400 touches this year. He's an obvious top three running back.

Sean McVay projects Tavon Austin will be a "big part" of the offense.
Austin is still recovering from offseason wrist injury, so he hasn't been able to practice with the team this offseason. But the team plans to employ him as a deep threat, and there was talk earlier this offseason that he'd be used like DeSean Jackson was used when McVay was the OC in Washington. Austin said, "I definitely love the plans they've got for me." The Rams did revamp their receiving corps this season, however, including signing former Bills receiver Robert Woods to a big contract. Austin needs to get on the field before his role can be projected more accurately, but he's expected to be ready for training camp.

Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone said, "I like to run the ball every play."
Bortles had been throwing more than most quarterbacks, which isn't ideal and unlikely to happen this season. Marrone is an old school-type coach that wants to "go back to the old way" and "change the game." Jaguars executive VP Tom Coughlin probably wouldn't mind pounding the ball, and the team drafted Leonard Fournette number four overall for a reason. The big, talented rookie running back will be the centerpiece of the offense. Fournette looks like he could get upwards of 20 carries per game as a rookie, but Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon are also in the mix. Fournette should be considered at least a solid RB2 for now.
