Join now >The Lions promoted Craig Reynolds from the practice squad.
Reynolds has impressed and taken advantage of his opportunity over the past couple of games, including a 100-yard rushing performance yesterday. He’s earned a role on the active roster, and it’ll be interesting to see what type of workload he gets over the final three games. It’s nice to see Reynolds work his way from undrafted in 2019 to a player making an impact for an emerging team in Detroit.

The Lions activated Jamaal Williams from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Williams missed two games while on the COVID list, but he’s back for Week 16. However, Craig Reynolds has emerged as a strong option in the Detroit backfield, so Williams might not be locked into the lead role even if D’Andre Swift (shoulder) remains out this week. Still, it’ll be good for the Lions to have the energy that Williams brings back in the mix.

Jared Goff has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
This is straight up confusing at this point. The thought was that these new protocols starting today would lead to less disruption, but we’ve had numerous players still anding on the COVID list today. Goff now might miss Week 16, which is really unfortunate, as it stops some momentum after he had a tremendous outing in an upset win over the 10-3 Cardinals yesterday. Let’s hope Goff can get cleared soon as he looks to show the Lions he can be their franchise quarterback moving forward with the team improving around him in future years.

Jalen Hurts is off the Week 15 injury report.
The matchup with Washington getting postponed to Tuesday gave Hurts, who was originally going to be listed as questionable with the expectation of playing, to heal up from his high-ankle sprain. The second-year quarterback might be a little rusty after missing a game and then having the bye week, but he’s obviously a QB1 option for the fantasy playoffs.

Daniel Jones (neck) is out for the season.
This has been the feeling since Jones has missed the past couple of games with the neck issue, and the Giants are placing Jones on injured reserve, officially ending his year. Now, the hope is that Jones will be 100% for the start of offseason activities in 2022. The Giants say in a statement that they expect a “full recovery” for Jones, which is great to hear considering some of the rumors that have been swirling. Jones’ 2021 campaign ends with 2,428 passing yards, ten passing touchdowns, seven interceptions, 62 carries, 298 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns in 11 games. It was yet another difficult season for the Giants in terms of staying healthy; and despite the obvious flashes he’s shown, Jones has had trouble putting everything together consistently for a variety of reasons. The former first-round pick is entering a critical fourth NFL season next year.

Curtis Samuel (hamstring) has been ruled out for tomorrow night.
The Week 15 matchup at Philadelphia getting delayed due to COVID unfortunately still didn’t give Samuel enough time to get right while dealing with the hamstring issue. It’s been a tough first season for Samuel in Washington, as he’s had multiple injuries all season.

J.D. McKissic (concussion) has officially been ruled out for Week 15.
This is McKissic’s third consecutive missed game while remaining in the concussion protocol. Hopefully the versatile running back is feeling OK and back to 100% soon.
