Chris Carson | Retired RB

Chris Carson has been cleared to return to the game.

This is great news after Carson took a hit to the head on Seattle’s opening drive. He and Rashaad Penny will split work for the remainder of the night.

Chris Carson | Retired RB

Chris Carson leaves game after hit to the head.

Carson was kneed in the head by teammate Jacob Hollister on the game’s opening drive, and trainers had to attend to him. He was able to walk off under his own power, but Carson is likely going to enter the concussion protocol.

Trevor Davis | Free Agent WR

The Raiders waived Trevor Davis.

Davis lost a fumble in yesterday’s loss to the Chiefs, and the Raiders are moving in another direction after just acquiring the speedy receiver/returner earlier this season. Davis should land with a new team soon.

Tyler Ervin | Free Agent RB

The Packers have claimed Tyler Ervin, according to Ian Rapoport.

Ervin was recently waived by the Jaguars, but Green Bay is adding him to potentially contribute on special teams or maybe even offensively. Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams can both certainly catch the ball out of the backfield, though, so Ervin will probably be depth more than anything else.

Chester Rogers | Texans WR

Chester Rogers (knee) is being placed on injured reserve.

This was the expectation, and Colts head coach Frank Reich confirmed Rogers’ season is over. Rogers’ year ends with 16 receptions for 179 yards and two touchdowns. The former undrafted receiver will be a free agent this offseason.

Devin Funchess | Free Agent TE

Devin Funchess (clavicle) will not return this season.

The Colts were hoping Funchess would be able to return from injured reserve, but he has simply been unable to heal the way everyone had hoped, and Colts head coach Frank Reich said yesterday that Funchess will not be back this year. Funchess’ season ends with three receptions for 32 yards in one game. The big receiver made $10 million this season on a one-year deal, so this was obviously extremely disappointing all around, and it was really out of the control of both the team and the player, as injuries just happen sometimes. It’ll be interesting to see the interest Funchess draws on the open market this offseason.

John Ross | Free Agent WR

John Ross (shoulder) is expected to play in Week 14.

Head coach Zac Taylor expects the former first-round pick back in the lineup against Cleveland, so he should probably be picked up in all formats as a high-upside FLEX option with Andy Dalton under center for Cincinnati. The sample size is obviously small, but in four September games, Ross was on a season-long pace of 64 receptions, 1,312 yards, and 12 touchdowns. His return should boost the entire offense coming off their first win of the year.
