Brandin Cooks | Saints WR

Brandin Cooks leaves game with apparent head injury.

Cook made a great catch on a deep ball, but he appeared to have his head drive into the ground a bit as he came down with the ball. Cook was down on the field for a little bit, and he’s now headed to the locker room. We’ll update you as more information becomes available on the speedy receiver’s status.

Christian Kirk | Texans WR

Christian Kirk (ankle) is unlikely to play in Week 5.

Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury says Kirk will be limited in practice because of the ankle injury, so it doesn’t sound too bad—and Kingsbury says the team is thankful the injury isn’t worse. Expect Kirk to be limited in practice all week, but we’ll let you know if anything changes. Consider him on the doubtful side of things to face the Bengals this Sunday, but perhaps he’ll progress quicker than anticipated and get out there.

10/2/19 - 01:01 PM ET

Taylor Gabriel | Retired WR

Taylor Gabriel (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 5.

The Bears are traveling to London and Gabriel is still in concussion protocol, so this was expected. Hopefully Gabriel is feeling better soon and can return for Week 7 after Chicago’s bye week.

10/3/19 - 07:04 PM ET

Saquon Barkley | Eagles RB

Saquon Barkley is running and cutting.

Multiple Giants reporters took video of Barkley getting some work in on the side during today’s practice, and he looks very good after just suffering the high-ankle sprain under two weeks ago. Basically, Barkley appears to be one of those superhuman-like athletes that might be able to heal a lot quicker than anticipated. Eight weeks looks like the absolute worst-case scenario for Barkley’s total missed time, and it won’t be surprising if he’s back for Week 7 against the Cardinals after the mini bye following New York’s Week 6 Thursday night game a week from tomorrow. Especially if you feel you’re in a good spot to make the playoffs in your league, buy low on Barkley if you can.

10/2/19 - 11:10 AM ET

Travis Benjamin | Free Agent WR

Travis Benjamin (hip) was officially limited in today’s practice.

Benjamin will also likely remain limited tomorrow, and we’ll see how he’s listed when the final Week 5 injury report is released tomorrow.

10/3/19 - 06:28 PM ET

John Ross | Free Agent WR

John Ross (shoulder) is expected to miss multiple games, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Ross injured his right shoulder—which he previously had surgery on—in last night’s loss to the Steelers. Garafolo says the speedy receiver could miss “a month or so” with the injury. This is terrible luck for Ross, who had remained healthy and had a very strong first quarter of the season. Hopefully we see the former first-round pick back on the field soon—and hopefully A.J. Green (ankle) is back by then to help form one of the league’s better receiving groups. Hold Ross on fantasy rosters if you have the space on your bench or IR spot.

Mike Williams | Chargers WR

Mike Williams (back) officially remains limited in practice.

Two straight practices is a good sign for Williams after he did not practice at all last week. We expect he’ll be listed as questionable when the final Week 5 injury report is released tomorrow, with a pretty good shot to play on Sunday.
