Emmanuel Sanders | Free Agent WR

Emmanuel Sanders catches 11 passes in Week 2.

Sanders gained 98 yards on his 11 receptions in the Broncos’ tough loss to the Bears, and he also caught a go-ahead touchdown and two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter. The touchdown was on a great catch on a fade route, as Sanders was able to get both feet inbounds on a perfect throw from Joe Flacco. Through two games, Sanders already has 16 receptions for 184 yards and two touchdowns, and he doesn’t look like someone coming off a torn Achilles suffered late last season. Sanders looks like a solid fantasy option for Week 3 against the Packers, but he could see a lot of standout second-year cornerback Jaire Alexander in the game.

Patrick Mahomes | Chiefs QB

Patrick Mahomes lights up the Raiders in Week 2.

Mahomes was 30/44 for 443 yards and four touchdowns as the Chiefs improved to 2-0 with a 28-10 win in Oakland. All four of Mahomes touchdowns (and all of Kansas City’s points) came in the second quarter—a 44-yarder to a wide-open Demarcus Robinson, a 42-yarder to an open Mecole Hardman on a post, a 27-yarder on a perfect deep ball to Travis Kelce, and a 39-yarder to Robinson. All four touchdowns were shots to the end zone. Mahomes actually missed some wide-open throws and could have had an even bigger game, but the bottom line is last year’s league MVP and fantasy MVP is not slowing down at all in 2019. He’s clearly the top fantasy quarterback to own again this season.

Mecole Hardman Jr. | Packers WR

Mecole Hardman scores first career touchdown in Week 2.

Hardman caught four passes for 61 yards and a touchdown, with the score coming on a 42-yard deep ball where the blazing second-rounder got behind the Raiders defense. Patrick Mahomes appeared to be frustrated with Hardman’s route on one occasion, but overall it was as strong performance as Kansas City looks to keep the offense rolling without Tyreek Hill. Hardman is one of the fastest players in the league and can take it to the house whenever he touches it, so he’s not a bad FLEX option playing for an elite offense.

Demarcus Robinson | 49ers WR

Demarcus Robinson goes off in Chiefs’ Week 2 win.

Robinson caught seven passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns in Kansas City’s victory at Oakland. The fourth-year receiver got more playing time with Tyreek Hill (shoulder) out, and he took advantage by making multiple plays in contested coverage and getting free—the first score was on a 44-yard deep ball where he got wide open behind the defense, and the second was on a nice jump-ball, back-shoulder type of catch in the end zone for 39 yards. D-Rob is on the boom/bust FLEX radar as someone that has Patrick Mahomes’ trust dating back to last season.

Dak Prescott | Cowboys QB

Dak Prescott stays hot in Cowboys’ Week 2 win.

Prescott was 26/30 for 269 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception along with five carries for 69 yards in a 31-21 victory over the Redskins. Prescott hit Amari Cooper and Jason Witten for a couple of touchdowns in the red zone, but the highlight was a perfect 51-yard deep ball to Devin Smith for a touchdown against Josh Norman, who earlier in the week said anybody can do what Prescott is doing. Playing in an offense that’s been more opened up and taking more shots down the intermediate and deeper parts of the field, Dak has been throwing the ball as well as anyone through two games this season, and next he gets a matchup against a Dolphins team that’s been outscored 102-10 this year. Another fantasy QB1 finish looks likely in 2019.

9/16/19 - 08:26 AM ET

Gardner Minshew II | Chiefs QB

Gardner Minshew plays well in first career start.

The sixth-round rookie quarterback was 23/33 for 213 yards and a touchdown along with six carries for a team-high 56 yards in the Jaguars’ Week 2 loss to the Texans. At the end of the game, Minshew led his team to a touchdown—on a nice play where Minshew scrambled and found D.J. Chark in the end zone—and a chance to take the lead with a two-point conversion attempt, but Leonard Fournette came up just short on a running play. Overall, Minshew avoided mistakes and helped give his team a chance to win the game, but it’s probably a stretch to expect 50+ yard rushing performances every week from him. Minshew is an intriguing player to watch in real life, but he’s not a recommended fantasy pickup at the moment.

9/16/19 - 08:21 AM ET

Josh Gordon | Free Agent WR

Josh Gordon catches two passes in Week 2.

Gordon gained 19 yards on his two receptions against the Dolphins. The former All-Pro receiver was shadowed by Xavien Howard for much of the game, and that—paired with the Patriots trying to get new addition Antonio Brown the ball—led to a disappointing game. Gordon is a monstrous player that has great weekly upside, but—while this was just one game—his fantasy value probably takes a hit after the addition of Brown to the team’s receiving corps. That said, Gordon will be a stronger fantasy option in Week 3 against the Jets.
