DK Metcalf | Steelers WR

D.K. Metcalf leads the Seahawks in Week 1 receiving.

Metcalf caught four passes for 89 yards in Seattle’s 21-20 win against the Bengals. The second-round rookie made multiple contested catches down the field, showing his ability to come up with deep balls from the rainbow-throwing Russell Wilson. Metcalf didn’t show any affects from the knee procedure he had last month, and he operated as a clear starting receiver for Seattle. Metcalf’s game matches up well with his quarterback, and both his season-long and dynasty-league outlooks appear promising. He’s on the FLEX radar next week versus the Steelers.

Tyler Lockett | Titans WR

Tyler Lockett is not on the Week 2 injury report.

Lockett missed some practice time this week with a back issue, but he’s ready to go for Sunday at Pittsburgh. You can safely insert Lockett into your fantasy lineup as a high upside option after Phillip Dorsett went for 95 yards and two touchdowns on the Steelers last week.

Jeff Driskel | Free Agent QB

The Bengals have waived Jeff Driskel with an injury settlement.

Driskel made five starts last season and played surprisingly well, but the a new regime drafted Ryan Finley in the fourth round, so they’ll let the 26-year-old try to establish himself somewhere else. There is probably a good chance Driskel gets claimed on waivers to be someone’s No. 2 or No. 3 quarterback.

Joe Mixon | Texans RB

Joe Mixon (ankle) officially did not practice today.

Mixon worked off to the side, but he was officially a non-participant in practice. The third-year running back is almost certainly headed for a questionable tag when the official Week 2 injury report is released sometime tomorrow, but hopefully he can at least end the week with a limited practice.

9/12/19 - 04:46 PM ET

Jameis Winston | Giants QB

Jameis Winston struggles in Week 1.

Winston was 20/36 for 194 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions along with five carries for 13 yards in Tampa Bay’s 31-17 loss to San Francisco. The former No. 1 overall pick simply did not play well at all, showing poor awareness, making poor decisions, and missing open receivers all game. Two interception were pick-sixes, including one to Richard Sherman, who was covering running back Peyton Barber on the outside—it looked like Barber might have ran the wrong route, but Bucs head coach Bruce Arians said it was just a very bad decision by his quarterback. While there was optimism about Winston from a fantasy perspective with Arians as his coach, we do not recommend trusting him in fantasy lineups—this was just one game, and there’ll likely be boom weeks, but Winston simply has not played very well since entering the league. Weird things happen on short weeks, but Winston is not a recommended play on Thursday night against the Panthers.

9/9/19 - 07:59 AM ET

Tavon Austin | Free Agent WR

Tavon Austin (concussion) is out for Week 2.

Austin caught one pass for eight yards in the opener, but he wasn’t expected to have a big role against the Redskins. Hopefully the former first-round pick can pass the protocol before Week 3.

9/13/19 - 03:19 PM ET

Mike Williams | Chargers WR

Mike Williams (knee) officially did not practice today.

Perhaps Williams can get out there tomorrow and make a push to play on Sunday, but things aren’t looking good after Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said yesterday that he was “concerned” about Williams’ knee. There hasn’t been much word on the exact injury Williams is dealing with, so hopefully more information becomes available in the coming days.
