2018 Fantasy Football Mock Draft 3.0 (12-Team, Superflex)

Last month, we had a 10-team, non-PPR mock draft and a 10-team, PPR mock draft. Now, mock draft 3.0 is for a non-PPR, superflex (QB/RB/WR/TE at FLEX) league with 12 teams using Fantasy Pros Draft Simulator, and I have the last pick based on randomization.

Round 1

1.1: Le’Veon Bell, PIT RB

1.2: Todd Gurley, LAR RB

1.3: Ezekiel Elliott, DAL RB

1.4: David Johnson, ARI RB

1.5: Aaron Rodgers, GB QB

1.6: Antonio Brown, PIT WR

1.7: Russell Wilson, SEA QB

1.8: Alvin Kamara, NO RB

1.9: Saquon Barkley, NYG RB

1.10: DeAndre Hopkins, HOU WR

1.11: Tom Brady, NE QB

1.12: Julio Jones, ATL WR

My thoughts: Three quarterbacks went in the first round, so I was able to get Julio Jones, who has as good a chance as anyone to finish as the overall WR1.

Round 2

2.1: Melvin Gordon, LAC RB

2.2: Kareem Hunt, KC RB

2.3: Odell Beckham Jr., NYG WR

2.4: Drew Brees, NO QB

2.5: Deshaun Watson, HOU QB

2.6: Leonard Fournette, JAX RB

2.7: Michael Thomas, NO WR

2.8: Cam Newton, CAR QB

2.9: Dalvin Cook, MIN RB

2.10: Carson Wentz, PHI QB

2.11: A.J. Green, CIN WR

2.12: Keenan Allen, LAC WR

My thoughts: There were tons of options with the second of my back-to-back picks, but I think Melvn Gordon gives me the highest floor for the foundation of my team.

Round 3

3.1: LeSean McCoy, BUF RB

3.2: Davante Adams, GB WR

3.3: Devonta Freeman, ATL RB

3.4: Tyreek Hill, KC WR

3.5: Jordan Howard, CHI RB

3.6: Andrew Luck, IND QB

3.7: Mike Evans, TB WR

3.8: Jerick McKinnon, SF RB

3.9: Doug Baldwin, SEA WR

3.10: Kirk Cousins, MIN QB

3.11: Rashaad Penny, SEA RB

3.12: Christian McCaffrey, CAR RB

My thoughts: Quarterbacks continuing to be pushed up the board in a superflex league allows me to get an absolute steal with Christian McCaffrey at pick No. 36.

Round 4

4.1: Rob Gronkowski, NE TE

4.2: Matthew Stafford, DET QB

4.3: Jimmy Garoppolo, SF QB

4.4: Derrick Henry, TEN RB

4.5: Adam Thielen, MIN WR

4.6: Kenyan Drake, MIA RB

4.7: Ben Roethlisberger, PIT QB

4.8: Joe Mixon, CIN RB

4.9: Allen Robinson, CHI WR

4.10: Matt Ryan, ATL QB

4.11: Travis Kelce, KC TE

4.12: Brandin Cooks, LAR WR

My thoughts: I might have waited too long to get my first quarterback, but Rob Gronkowski was the obvious best player on the board and gives me a significant weekly advantage at tight end.

Round 5

5.1: Jared Goff, LAR QB

5.2: Philip Rivers, LAC QB

5.3: T.Y. Hilton, IND WR

5.4: Patrick Mahones, KC QB

5.5: Larry Fitzgerald, ARI WR

5.6: Jay Ajayi, PHI RB

5.7: Josh Gordon, CLE WR

5.8: Marcus Mariota, TEN QB

5.9: Alshon Jeffery, PHI WR

5.10: Alex Collins, BAL RB

5.11: Stefon Diggs, MIN WR

5.12: Amari Cooper, OAK WR

My thoughts: Amari Cooper will be the focal point of Jon Gruden’s offense, and the draft actually fell perfectly for me when it came to waiting for a quarterback thanks to my next pick also being on the board still.

Round 6

6.1: Derek Carr, OAK QB

6.2: JuJu Smith-Schuster, PIT WR

6.3: Zach Ertz, PHI TE

6.4: Jameis Winston, TB QB

6.5: Golden Tate, DET WR

6.6: Dak Prescott, DAL QB

6.7: Lamar Miller, HOU RB

6.8: Demaryius Thomas, DEN WR

6.9: Alex Smith, WAS QB

6.10: Marvin Jones, DET WR

6.11: Eli Manning, NYG QB

6.12: Blake Bortles, JAX QB

My thoughts: Derek Carr and Amari Cooper could be a deadly stack combination in Oakland, and I’m comfortable with Carr as my QB1 in a superflex thanks to the strength of my skill-position players.

Round 7

7.1: Carlos Hyde, CLE RB

7.2: Dion Lewis, TEN RB

7.3: Derrius Guice, WAS RB

7.4: Jarvis Landry, CLE WR

7.5: Chris Hogan, NE WR

7.6: Michael Crabtree, BAL WR

7.7: Mark Ingram, NO RB

7.8: Robby Anderson, NYJ WR

7.9: Sammy Watkins, KC WR

7.10: Ronald Jones II, TB RB

7.11: Marshawn Lynch, OAK RB

7.12: Mitchell Trubisky, CHI QB

My thoughts: Trubisky has top ten potential, but I got him at a QB24 price to slot right into the superflex. I think waiting for the position paid off.

Round 8

8.1: Sony Michel, NE RB

8.2: Royce Freeman, DEN RB

8.3: Tevin Coleman, ATL RB

8.4: Evan Engram, NYG TE

8.5: Jimmy Graham, GB TE

8.6: Greg Olsen, CAR TE

8.7: Corey Davis, TEN WR

8.8: Pierre Garcon, SF WR

8.9: Robert Woods, LAR WR

8.10: Devin Funchess, CAR WR

8.11: Tarik Cohen, CHI RB

8.12: Dez Bryant, FA WR

My thoughts: Now that I have two signal-callers, I can go BPA without worrying about being left hanging. Sony Michel could be a star if Bill Belichick trusts him enough in a significant role early on.

Round 9

9.1: Duke Johnson, CLE RB

9.2: Randall Cobb, GB WR

9.3: Emmanuel Sanders, DEN WR

9.4: Jamaal Williams, GB RB

9.5: Julian Edelman, NE WR

9.6: Kelvin Benjamin, BUF WR

9.7: Will Fuller, HOU WR

9.8: Rex Burkhead, NE RB

9.9: Marlon Mack, IND RB

9.10: Isaiah Crowell, NYJ RB

9.11: Delanie Walker, TEN TE

9.12: Jordy Nelson, OAK WR

My thoughts: There were several options I considered here, but with Carr and Cooper already on the roster, I went with Nelson.

Round 10

10.1: C.J. Anderson, CAR RB

10.2: Kenny Stills, MIA WR

10.3: Cooper Kupp, LAR WR

10.4: DeVante Parker, MIA WR

10.5: Jamison Crowder, WAS WR

10.6: Chris Thompson, WAS RB

10.7: Kyle Rudolph, MIN TE

10.8: Marqise Lee, JAX WR

10.9: Marquise Goodwin, SF WR

10.10: Sterling Shepard, NYG WR

10.11: Theo Riddick, DET RB

10.12: Josh Doctson, WAS WR

My thoughts: I like C.J. Anderson as my fourth running back in the 12-team league, especially considering he also acts as a handcuff to McCaffrey.

Round 11

11.1: Martavis Bryant, OAK WR

11.2: Nelson Agholor, PHI WR

11.3: Rishard Matthews, TEN WR

11.4: Kerryon Johnson, DET RB

11.5: Jordan Reed, WAS TE

11.6: Doug Martin, OAK RB

11.7: DeSean Jackson, TB WR

11.8: Aaron Jones, GB RB

11.9: Nick Chubb, CLE RB

11.10: LeGarrette Blount, DET RB

11.11: Mike Williams, LAC WR

11.12: D’Onta Foreman, HOU RB

My thoughts: He needs to get healthy to be worth the selection here, but D’Onta Foreman has the talent to takeover Houston’s backfield in an explosive offensive attack.

Round 12

12.1: D.J. Moore, CAR WR

12.2: Kenny Golladay, DET WR

12.3: Allen Hurns, DAL WR

12.4: Trey Burton, CHI TE

12.5: Eric Ebron, IND TE

12.6: Bilal Powell, NYJ RB

12.7: Ty Montgomery, GB RB

12.8: Devontae Booker, DEN RB

12.9: Cameron Meredith, NO WR

12.10: Jack Doyle, IND TE

12.11: Andy Dalton, CIN QB

12.12: Chris Carson, SEA RB

My thoughts: I thought about Kenny Golladay, who went immediately after, but D.J. Moore has a clearer path to playing time and could rise in the coming weeks if he performs in the preseason.

Round 13

13.1: O.J. Howard, TB TE

13.2: James White, NE RB

13.3: Giovani Bernard, CIN RB

13.4: Tyler Eifert, CIN TE

13.5: Corey Clement, PHI RB

13.6: Vikings D/ST

13.7: George Kittle, SF TE

13.8: Tyrell Williams, LAC WR

13.9: Case Keenum DEN QB

13.10: Ryan Tannehill, MIA QB

13.11: David Njoku, CLE TE

13.12: Sam Bradford, ARI QB

My thoughts: Sam Bradford is a notch behind Carr and Trubisky as fantasy options, but he could have some big weeks in Mike McCoy’s offense.

Round 14

14.1: Latavius Murray, MIN RB

14.2: Frank Gore, MIA RB

14.3: Vance McDonald, PIT TE

14.4: Matt Breida, SF RB

14.5: Peyton Barber, TB RB

14.6: Tyler Lockett, SEA WR

14.7: Kenneth Dixon, BAL RB

14.8: Nyheim Hines, IND RB

14.9: Austin Ekeler, LAC RB

14.10: Chris Ivory, BUF RB

14.11: Ted Ginn, NO WR

14.12: Jaguars D/ST

My thoughts: I could have used another tight end for Gronk insurance, but he doesn’t have a bye until Week 11, and Latavius Murray was the best player available.

Round 15

15.1: Charles Clay, BUF TE

15.2: Eagles D/ST

15.3: Rams D/ST

15.4: Texas D/ST

15.5: Chargers D/ST

15.6: Cameron Brate, TB TE

15.7: Broncos D/ST

15.8: Ravens D/ST

15.9: Saints D/ST

15.10: Steelers D/ST

15.11: Seahawks D/ST

15.12: Panthers D/ST

My thoughts: The Panthers probably have the best defense left on the board, and their season opener isn’t terribly imposing with Dallas coming to town.

Round 16

16.1: Stephen Gostkowski, NE K

16.2: Justin Tucker, BAL K

16.3: Greg Zuerlein, LAR K

16.4: Matt Bryant, ATL K

16.5: Wil Lutz, NO K

16.6: Jake Elliott, PHI K

16.7: Dan Bailey, DAL K

16.8: Matt Prater, DET K

16.9: Chris Boswell, PIT K

16.10: Mason Crosby, GB K

16.11: Harrison Butker, KC K

16.12: Blair Walsh, FA K
