My second-to-last mock draft of the summer is an auction draft using Fantasy Pros Draft Simulator. It was a bit difficult not bidding against actual people like you would in real life, but here it goes. I had the final nominating spot in each round, and this is for a non-PPR league.
Round 1
1. Antonio Brown, PIT WR ($60)
2. DeAndre Hopkins, HOU WR ($50)
3. Dalvin Cook, MIN RB ($47)
4. Melvin Gordon, LAC RB ($52)
5. Todd Gurley, LAR RB ($78)
6. Le’Veon Bell, PIT RB ($74)
7. Ezekiel Elliott, DAL RB ($67)
8. David Johnson, ARI RB ($67)
9. Alvin Kamara, NO RB ($56)
10. Saquon Barkley, NYG RB ($65)
My thoughts: Fantasy owners can basically implement any strategy they want in an auction draft, and I decided to go for two potential superstar running backs after getting good value for Johnson ($11 less than Gurley). Melvin Gordon would have been a much better pick than Barkley at his price, but that’s the risk of this format. I think I can make up for the early spending with late bargains.
Round 2
1. Leonard Fournette, JAX RB ($47)
2. Odell Beckham Jr., NYG WR ($51)
3. Kareem Hunt, KC RB ($67)
4. Michael Thomas, NO WR ($47)
5. Doug Baldwin, SEA WR ($32)
6. LeSean McCoy, BUF RB (#30)
7. Kenyan Drake, MIA RB ($24)
8. Julio Jones, ATL WR ($54)
9. Rob Gronkowski, NE TE ($38)
10. Keenan Allen, LAC WR ($35)
My thoughts: Gronk or Keenan Allen would have been excellent values if I didn’t spend big in Round 1, but fantasy owners must remain display patience when it’s necessary.
Round 3
1. Devonta Freeman, ATL RB ($44)
2. Zach Ertz, PHI TE ($21)
3. Deshaun Watson, HOU QB ($11)
4. Davante Adams, GB WR ($32)
5. Christian McCaffrey, CAR RB ($33)
6. Jordan Howard, CHI RB ($32)
7. JuJu Smith-Schuster, PIT WR ($14)
8. A.J. Green, CIN WR ($28)
9. Mike Evans, TB WR ($25)
10. Aaron Rodgers, GB QB ($24)
My thoughts: Even though I’m in really good shape at running back already, I got into a bidding war for Jordan Howard here, but it quickly got out of hand after I nearly had him at $22.
Round 4
1. Joe Mixon, CIN RB ($27)
2. Amari Cooper, OAK WR ($16)
3. Jimmy Graham, SEA TE ($10)
4. Stefon Diggs, MIN WR ($14)
5. Jerick McKinnon, SF RB ($27)
6. Cam Newton, CAR QB ($11)
7. Ronald Jones II, TB RB ($10)
8. Travis Kelce, KC TE ($19)
9. Adam Thielen, MIN WR ($15)
10. Rashaad Penny, SEA RB ($15)
My thoughts: I had no interest in taking him, but I was hoping Rashaad Penny would get into the $20-$25 range after Mixon and McKinnon surpassed it earlier in the round.
Round 5
1. Derrius Guice, WAS RB ($16)
2. Derrick Henry, TEN RB ($15)
3. Larry Fitzgerald, ARI WR ($8)
4. Tyreek Hill, KC WR ($15)
5. Delanie Walker, TEN TE ($7)
6. Josh Gordon, CLE WR ($9)
7. T.Y. Hilton, IND WR ($14)
8. Devontae Booker, DEN RB ($5)
9. Allen Robinson, CHI WR ($9)
10. Alex Collins, BAL RB ($21)
My thoughts: I wasn’t planning on targeting Robinson, but once I saw Fitzgerald and Gordon go for under $10, I figured the same might happen with Chicago’s new receiver. And my nomination with Alex Collins worked as I hoped it would with Penny.
Round 6
1. Trey Burton, CHI TE ($2)
2. Mark Ingram, NO RB ($10)
3. Greg Zuerlein, LAR K ($1)
4. Jay Ajayi, PHI RB ($12)
5. Chris Thompson, WAS RB ($6)
6. Demaryius Thomas, DEN WR ($9)
7. Chris Hogan, NE WR ($5)
8. D’Onta Foreman, HOU RB ($4)
9. Julian Edelman, NE WR ($2)
10. Tom Brady, NE QB ($10)
My thoughts: I won’t have him the first four weeks of the season, but Edelman could be a steal at $1 over the minimum bid. I tried stealing Tom Brady after, but didn’t want to go over $9.
Round 7
1. Brandin Cooks, LAR WR ($6)
2. Russell Wilson, SEA QB ($9)
3. Drew Brees, NO QB ($6)
4. Ty Montgomery, GB RB ($4)
5. Golden Tate, DET WR ($7)
6. Lamar Miller, HOU RB ($9)
7. Randall Cobb, GB WR ($3)
8. Royce Freeman, DEN RB ($8)
9. Marvin Jones, DET WR ($5)
10. Carson Wentz, PHI QB ($5)
My thoughts: I thought Carson Wentz would go for more than $5 to get more money dropped at the position before I hopefully scoop a quarterback up for $1 later, but $5 turned out to be a bargain for the team that got him.
Round 8
1. Evan Engram, NYG TE ($7)
2. Alshon Jeffery, PHI WR ($6)
3. Greg Olsen, CAR TE ($5)
4. Jarvis Landry, CLE WR ($2)
5. Cooper Kupp, LAR WR ($2)
6. Sony Michel, NE RB ($6)
7. Sterling Shepard, NYG WR ($2)
8. Jamaal Williams, GB RB ($5)
9. Dion Lewis, TEN RB ($5)
10. Kirk Cousins, MIN QB ($5)
My thoughts: Michel and Shepard with back-to-back picks were both tremendous values in my opinion, and I can still obviously get an upgrade at early-season WR2 (with Edelman out) since it’s an auction draft.
Round 9
1. Sammy Watkins, KC WR ($4)
2. Carlos Hyde, CLE RB ($4)
3. Chris Boswell, PIT K ($1)
4. Jamison Crowder, WAS WR ($1)
5. Doug Martin, OAK RB ($2)
6. Marshawn Lynch, OAK RB ($4)
7. Tevin Coleman, ATL RB ($4)
8. Kerryon Johnson, DET RB ($3)
9. Devin Funchess, CAR WR ($3)
10. Tarik Cohen, CHI RB ($5)
My thoughts: Round 9 was filled with potential bargains, but I like the $2 I spent for a potential co-starter in Jon Gruden’s offense, especially once Marshawn Lynch went for double the price right after.
Round 10
1. Corey Davis, TEN WR ($2)
2. C.J. Anderson, CAR RB ($3)
3. Matthew Stafford, DET QB ($3)
4. Jaguars D/ST ($3)
5. Will Fuller, HOU WR ($1)
6. Eagles D/ST ($1)
7. Chargers D/ST ($1)
8. Marlon Mack, IND RB ($4)
9. Marquise Goodwin, SF WR ($3)
10. Vikings D/ST ($1)
My thoughts:As I said, I had time to get my WR2 with Edelman out, and Corey Davis is unlikely to disappoint at $2. To end the round, I was either going to get the elite Vikings defense at $1 or make someone else spend more for them.
Round 11
1. Nick Chubb, CLE RB ($3)
2. Duke Johnson, CLE RB ($4)
3. Rams D/ST ($2)
4. Texans D/ST ($1)
5. D.J. Moore, CAR WR ($2)
6. Kyle Rudolph, MIN TE ($4)
7. Michael Crabtree, BAL WR ($4)
8. Robert Woods, LAR WR ($3)
9. Emmanuel Sanders, DEN WR ($3)
10. Rex Burkhead, NE RB ($4)
My thoughts: I really like the potential of my young receiving corps behind Robinson and Edelman after the selection of D.J. Moore to mix and match with Shepard and Davis.
Round 12
1. Jimmy Garoppolo, SF QB ($1)
2. Chris Carson, SEA RB ($3)
3. Ravens D/ST ($2)
4. Stephen Gostkowski, NE K ($1)
5. Pierre Garcon, SF WR ($3)
6. Justin Tucker, BAL K ($2)
7. Andrew Luck, IND QB ($2)
8. DeVante Parker, MIA WR ($3)
9. Aaron Jones, GB RB ($2)
10. Jordan Reed, WAS TE ($4)
My thoughts: Round 12 was a spending spree for me, as I had a huge budget left and some nice targets to spend it on. I now have $29 with one roster spot open, so there will be a bit of a surplus (“Why don’t you explain this to my like I’m five”) to say the least, which is fine. In hindsight, I could have gotten Gronk and maybe an elite quarterback, but at least the Johnson/Barkley combo didn’t end up hurting me.
Round 13
1. Patrick Mahomes, KC QB ($1)
2. Isaiah Crowell, NYJ RB ($4)
3. Patriots D/ST ($1)
4. Robby Anderson, NYJ WR ($2)
5. Jordy Nelson, OAK WR ($3)
6. Jake Elliott, PHI K ($1)
7. Jared Goff, LAR QB ($1)
8. Rishard Matthews, TEN WR ($)
9. Calvin Ridley, ATL WR ($2)
10. Ben Roethlisberger, PIT QB ($7)
My thoughts: I was able to get Big Ben at his “Recommended” value by starting the bidding there, and he rounds out my roster as a quarterback to pair with Andrew Luck. With my roster filled out, I am out of the nominating process the rest of the way.
Round 14
1. Christian Kirk, ARI WR ($1)
2. Saints D/ST ($1)
3. Dez Bryant, FA WR ($1)
4. Nelson Agholor, PHI WR ($2)
5. Cameron Meredith, NO WR ($1)
6. Corey Clement, PHI RB ($3)
7. Giovani Bernard, CIN RB ($3)
8. Kenny Stills, MIA WR ($1)
9. Philip Rivers, LAC QB ($1)
10. Josh Doctson, WAS WR ($1)
Round 15
1. Broncos D/ST ($1)
2. Matt Bryant, ATL K ($2)
3. Kelvin Benjamin, BUF WR ($1)
4. Jack Doyle, IND TE ($3)
5. George Kittle, SF TE ($2)
6. LeGarrette Blount, DET RB ($1)
7. Latavius Murray, MIN RB ($3)
8. Matt Breida, SF RB ($2)
9. Panthers D/ST ($2)
10. Harrison Butker, KC K ($1)
Round 16
1. Austin Seferian-Jenkins, JAX TE ($1)
2. Seahawks D/ST ($1)
3. Wil Lutz, NO K ($1)
4. Robbie Gould, SF K ($1)
5. Jordan Wilkins, IND RB ($1)
6. Peyton Barber, TB RB ($1)
7. Ricky Seals-Jones, ARI TE ($1)
8. Matt Prater, DET K ($1)
9. Atlanta D/ST ($1)
10. Mason Crosby, GB K ($1)

I hate auction drafts bro. They’re too easy or something.
Yea I like snakes much better.
Auction drafts are king.
No.
Dope team
I might need to try auction..
Pretty good for a 12 team auction.
