1. Christian McCaffrey, CAR
2020 statistics: 59 ATT, 225 YDS, 5 TD | 17 REC, 149 YDS, 1 TD
2021 projections: 284 ATT, 1,335 YDS, 14 TD | 92 REC, 810 YDS, 6 TD
We only saw McCaffrey for three games last year, but it was basically more of the same in terms of supreme fantasy production—as he went for point totals of 27.0, 22.8, and 32.1 in 0.5 PPR leagues while handling 25.3 touches per game and scoring twice in every appearance. Carolina might decide to scale back the workload a bit for their offensive centerpiece, though it wouldn’t be enough to move McCaffrey off the top-overall spot; for those who don’t remember how truly dominant the All-Pro runner was back in 2019, he had 287 carries, 1,387 rushing yards, 15 rushing touchdowns, 116 receptions, 1,005 receiving yards, and four receiving touchdowns. The top-four running backs all can make a case to be the first pick, but we can’t recommended passing on McCaffrey.
