NFL Week 3 Daily Fantasy Football Recommended Lineup Advice (DraftKings, FanDuel)

Alex Smith did not work out against the Colts last week, but overall it was a decent daily fantasy lineup. This week’s daily fantasy recommendations include a couple of players from the same teams and in the same games, as more shootouts could break out in Week 3.

QB: Matt Ryan vs. NO

DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $7,700

Matt Ryan rushing for two scores against the Panthers last week could give the offense a jolt heading into another division matchup with the Saints. Ryan had two touchdowns with four interceptions against New Orleans between their two games last season, but his three-interception outing was obviously uncharacteristic for him. Look for Matty Ice to do some damage in what could be a high-scoring affair in Atlanta.

RB: Tevin Coleman vs. NO

DraftKings: $6,400 | FanDuel: $7,300

Tevin Coleman has touchdowns in three of his five career games against the Saints, including a three-touchdown performance back in 2016. With Devonta Freeman (knee) out, Coleman should handle close to 20 touches for the Falcons as a weapon both on the ground and through the air. Some receptions and a potential receiving score could make a Ryan-Coleman pairing the best quarterback-running back combo of Week 3 (at least cheaper than Drew Brees and Alvin Kamara in the same game).

RB: Latavius Murray vs. BUF

DraftKings: $5,800 | FanDuel: $5,200

Dalvin Cook might be ready to go for Sunday against the Bills [UPDATE: Cook is officially out], but it seems like this might be a Latavius Murray week regardless. Anything can happen, but the Vikings are massive favorites in the game, which could mean Cook takes it easy even if he does play—leading to a lot of carries for Murray. Also, Murray is a capable receiver and could do more if given opportunities. 20+ touches is not out of the question.

WR: Sammy Watkins vs. SF

DraftKings: $5,100 | FanDuel: $6,200

Albeit with a different team, Sammy Watkins had 106 yards and two touchdowns against the 49ers last season. San Francisco added Richard Sherman in the offseason, but Watkins is used all over the formation for the Chiefs, and he has the release and speed to get past Sherman. While Watkins might struggle to replicate another 100-yard performance like he had last week, he’s one of the better bets for a touchdown in Week 3.

WR: JuJu Smith-Schuster @ TB (DraftKings) | Odell Beckham Jr. @ HOU (FanDuel)

Smith-Schuster: $7,200 | Beckham Jr.: $8,300

For DraftKings, I might as well keep things rolling with JuJu Smith-Schuster, who has been one of the hottest receivers in the league to open the season. Sticking with the Sunday slate on FanDuel, Odell Beckham Jr. could be in store for a monster game after he was relatively quiet in Week 2 against the Cowboys. The Texans have given up some big plays over the last few years, and OBJ is one of the premier big-play players in the league.

WR: Chris Godwin vs. PIT (DraftKings) | Tyreek Hill vs. SF (FanDuel)

Godwin: $4,800 | Hill: $8,200

Both the Monday night game and the Sunday game between the Niners and Chiefs have major shootout potential, so it’s a game to target in Week 3 daily fantasy lineups. Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson might get the focus of the Steelers, which could open things up for Chris Godwin (who has a touchdown in both games so far) to make more plays. Meanwhile, Tyreek Hill has legit 150-yard potential against the Niners, and it’s not a bad idea to put both him and Watkins in a lineup.

TE: Rob Gronkowski @ DET (DraftKings) | George Kittle @ KC (FanDuel)

Gronkowski: $7,400 | Kittle: $5,800

The ankle injury for Rob Gronkowski doesn’t seem to be much of a concern, and he might have one of his dominant multi-touchdown games after he had just two receptions last week. In FanDuel, the Chiefs were just roasted by Jesse James for 138 yards and a touchdown in Week 2, and George Kittle has been the most-targeted player for San Francisco this season.

FLEX: Corey Clement vs. IND (DraftKings) | Nelson Agholor vs. IND (FanDuel)

Clement: $4,300 | Agholor: $6,600

Jay Ajayi (back) is likely to miss Week 3 [UPDATE: Ajay is officially out], but in a similar situation to Latavius Murray, Corey Clement should get a solid workload either way. Clement knows how to get open when Carson Wentz scrambles around. With 16 receptions through two games, Nelson Agholor is a good target at $6,600 for FanDuel. Indy’s defense has been tougher than expected through two games, but the Eagles have one of the NFL’s best offenses, so Clement and Agholor should get theirs.

D/ST: Ravens vs. DEN

DraftKings: $2,800 | FanDuel: $4,300

The Vikings and Jaguars are of course strong options, but I like the Ravens to bounce back after Andy Dalton threw four touchdowns on them a couple Thursdays ago. Case Keenum has four interceptions this season, and he might toss a couple more against a defense that should have an edge at home.
