NFL Week 4 Daily Fantasy Football Recommended Lineup Advice (DraftKings, FanDuel)

Last week, our recommended daily fantasy lineup had huge hits in Matt Ryan, Tevin Coleman, Sammy Watkins, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Odell Beckham Jr., and Chris Godwin. Perhaps more should have been spent on Alvin Kamara on a near-shootout, but we’re on to Week 4.

QB: Tom Brady vs. MIA

DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $8,600

The performance from the Patriots last Sunday night was a major surprise, and Tom Brady himself didn’t play all that well in the opportunities he got with the ball. That should change this Sunday when the team returns home to Foxboro to face the 3-0 Dolphins. Brady might not actually care about the criticism coming his way for his play, but don’t think he doesn’t hear it. TB12 and the Pats should feed off the energy in Gillette Stadium and put up some big numbers this weekend.

RB: Kenyan Drake @ NE

DraftKings: $5,200 | FanDuel: $6,300

But on the other side, Miami’s offense has been very explosive this season, and the running back duo of Kenyan Drake and Frank Gore hasn’t made a huge impact yet. That impact could come this week against a defense that looked slow while allowing Detroit’s first 100-yard rusher since Thanksgiving 2013 last week. In Drake’s last matchup with New England in December, he had 193 total yards while making highlight-reel plays. Adam Gase is likely to give him the ball in space.

RB: Sony Michel vs. MIA

DraftKings: $4,500 | FanDuel: $5,900

With Rex Burkhead now on injured reserve with a neck injury, first-round rookie Sony Michel is now locked in as the clear goal-line back in addition to already being locked in as the unquestioned top early-down back. The former Georgia star hasn’t exploded for a big game yet, but it should be coming any week now. He’s worth a shot in daily fantasy lineups as someone with 100-yard, multi-touchdown upside.

WR: Keenan Allen vs. SF

DraftKings: $8,300 | FanDuel: $8,100

After an eight-reception, 108-yard, one-touchdown Week 1, Keenan Allen has had a relatively quiet last couple of weeks in matchups with the Bills and Rams. It’s not likely he stays this quiet for much longer, and a big game could be on the horizon against a Niners team that lost Richard Sherman for a few weeks. Mike Williams is deservedly drawing a lot of attention for the start to his season, but LA’s top receiver remains Allen, who could put up one of his double-digit catch efforts against San Francisco.

WR: Sterling Shepard vs. NO

DraftKings: $4,900 | FanDuel: $6,200

We targeted shootouts last week, and that’s what we might get in the Giants-Saints game in the Superdome. Sterling Shepard had a really good game last Sunday with six receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown, with the score acting as a game-clincher, which was a good sign that Eli Manning showed trust in his third-year receiver. Manning is going to need to trust all his guys this Sunday to keep up with Drew Brees, and Shepard could be a ten-catch, 100-yard guy for Week 4.

WR: John Brown @ PIT (DraftKings) | Kenny Golladay @ DAL (FanDuel)

Brown: $5,800 | Golladay: $5,800

Health has been the only concern throughout John Brown’s career, and he hasn’t had any health issues since joining the Ravens as a free agent. Brown has at least 86 yards or a touchdown in his first three games with Baltimore. The Steelers are giving up 16.2 yards per reception to wide receivers this season, and Brown is averaging 18.5 yards per reception. Also, this game also has the potential to turn into a shootout. For Golladay, he’s been a very good option through the first three weeks, and it feels like Matthew Stafford could light up his home-state team on Sunday.

TE: Rob Gronkowski vs. MIA

DraftKings: $7,000 | FanDuel: $8,100

Rob Gronkowski has been uncharacteristically quiet the last two games, as he continues to get double-teamed on most snaps. Standout Alabama rookie Minkah Fitzpatrick could be part of a group that gives Gronk problems, but look for Brady to feed his top target as the Patriots get back on track after two straight losses. Gronkowski is worth the money this week.

FLEX: Austin Ekeler vs. SF

DraftKings: $4,200 | FanDuel: $6,200

Austin Ekeler continues to play exceptionally well mixing in behind Melvin Gordon in the Chargers backfield, as he’s averaging 8.2 yards per rush on 20 attempts and 12.0 yards per reception on 11 receptions. Ekeler only needs a few touches to rack up several fantasy points, and he could get plenty of opportunities in a game LA is projected to control.

D/ST: Seahawks @ ARI

DraftKings: $3,200 | FanDuel: $4,400

It would be better if this matchup was in Seattle, but facing a rookie quarterback in his first start makes the Seahawks arguably the top D/ST option for Week 4. The unit is tied for fifth and third highest salary for DraftKings and FanDuel, respectively, so they aren’t a premium cost yet still offer as much upside as any defense.
