NFL Week 7 Daily Fantasy Football Recommended Lineup Advice (DraftKings, FanDuel)

Aside from Chris Carson, Josh Gordon, and Cooper Kupp (injury), it was another very strong week for the recommended daily fantasy lineup. I’ve been using analytics paired with matchups, and it’s worked extremely well this season. Here are the Week 7 daily fantasy lineup recommendations.

QB: Baker Mayfield @ TB

DraftKings: $5,800 | FanDuel: $7,100

The Buccaneers have been giving up huge fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season, with at least 334 passing yards allowed in every single game and 16 touchdowns in the five-game span. We went with Matty Ice against Tampa Bay last week and it worked out, and Mayfield gets enough volume that he could put up some big numbers in Week 7.

RB: Todd Gurley @ SF

DraftKings: $9,800 | FanDuel: $10,200

Some of the other top running back options have difficult matchups, so this is a good week to spend a large portion of the salary cap for Todd Gurley. The NFL’s 2017 Offensive Player of the Year had 149 total yards and three touchdowns in his only game against the Niners last season (he sat in Week 17), and he obviously offers both a premium floor and an elite ceiling every week.

RB: Frank Gore vs. DET

DraftKings: $3,800 | FanDuel: $5,600

Grabbing someone like Frank Gore, who continues to see his carries increase and had over 100 yards rushing last week, helps give the ability to spend big on a blue-chip option like Gurley. Gore might only catch one pass or two, but he should offer a solid floor of about 60 yards rushing, and he could hit the 100-yard mark—perhaps with his first rushing touchdown of the season—against the Lions.

WR: Robert Woods @ SF

DraftKings: $7,000 | FanDuel: $7,700

In that game Gurley scored three touchdowns against the Niners last season, Robert Woods put up six receptions for 108 yards. Cooper Kupp (knee) is out of the lineup, so Woods is a near-lock for 7-10 targets. The former USC receiver is a steal at this salary considering the way he’s been playing this season.

WR: John Brown vs. NO

DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $6,500

It’s no secret the Saints have struggled to contain plays down the field, and John “Smokey” Brown can get open deep with the best of them. Brown’s ability as a deep threat, along with the Saints boasting one of the NFL’s best run defenses, could mean he sees a good number of targets from Joe Flacco on Sunday. Also, after Michael Crabtree had his best game of the year last week, the Saints seem unlikely to shadow Smokey with Marshon Lattimore.

WR: Sammy Watkins vs. CIN (DraftKings) | Julian Edelman @ CHI (FanDuel)

Watkins: $5,100 | Edelman: $7,100

For DraftKings, Sammy Watkins is a great play in a potential shootout on Sunday night. After Watkins had just two receptions for 18 yards last week, things could turn back in his favor in an electric offense. And Julian Edelman should be a solid high-floor play that’ll look to find the end zone as a trusted target of Tom Brady.

TE: David Njoku @ TB

DraftKings: $4,200 | FanDuel: $5,700

Tampa Bay has been bad against quarterbacks this season, hence Mayfield as this week’s recommended quarterback; but they’ve been just as bad against tight ends. This could lead to a lot of points between Mayfield and his tight end David Njoku, who has 52+ yards in each of the rookie quarterback’s three starts. Njoku is a bargain this week.

FLEX: Tevin Coleman vs. NYG (DraftKings) | Devin Funchess @ PHI (FanDuel)

Coleman: $5,100 | Funchess: $6,400

The recommended DraftKings lineup has $1,200 left over, so you can go with someone else over Tevin Coleman at the FLEX (or spend more on another position). But I like Coleman better than most players priced above him, as he hasn’t had a huge breakout game yet this season. It might come on Monday night against the Giants. For FanDuel, Devin Funchess might have an advantage against some of Philadelphia’s smaller corners, and Cam Newton probably trusts him to make plays on jump balls after the Michigan product “Mossed” his way to a touchdown last Sunday.

D/ST: Bills @ IND

DraftKings: $2,300 | FanDuel: $3,400

The Bills have a bottom-ten price tag in DraftKings and a bottom-five price tag in FanDuel, making them easily the best play of the week in daily fantasy leagues. There’ll probably be higher-scoring defenses in Week 7, but Buffalo delivers the best value at their price.
