NFL Week 8 Daily Fantasy Football Recommended Lineup Advice (DraftKings, FanDuel)

Aside from the Bills D/ST, last week was another great week for the recommended daily fantasy lineup. The Week 8 daily fantasy recommendations include a few guys from the potential Packers-Rams shootout late Sunday afternoon. Again, analytics paired with matchups have been a huge asset while setting these recommended lineups.

QB: Jared Goff vs. GB

DraftKings: $6,000 | FanDuel: $8,500

Jared Goff hasn’t had a huge game the past three weeks, but it could be coming this Sunday in a highly-anticipated matchup with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Green Bay is 13th in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks, but they didn’t look good in their Week 6 win over the Niners. Perhaps the bye was used to sort things out—and they should get rookie corner Jaire Alexander back from injury—but there is a lot of upside for Goff in Sean McVay’s offense.

RB: Todd Gurley vs. GB

DraftKings: $9,800 | FanDuel: $11,000

And if Goff doesn’t put up huge numbers in what should be a high-scoring affair in the high 20s or 30s, Todd Gurley is a good bet to have another one of his monster multi-touchdown games. Gurley stands out as the best option for Week 8, and it’s a week worth spending the high salary to have him headlining your daily fantasy roster.

RB: David Johnson vs. SF (DraftKings) | Matt Breida @ ARI (FanDuel)

Johnson: $6,700 | Breida: $5,900

The hope is that new Cardinals offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich uses David Johnson like Bruce Arians did the last few seasons. If he does, the superstar running back could immediately play the way he did during his epic 2016 campaign. He’s a major bargain as a potential 30- or 40-point scorer against the Niners. For FanDuel, Breida is a solid target if he’s able to give it a go; but if he’s out, Raheem Mostert should offer a high floor against a Cardinals team that hasn’t stopped the run this season.

WR: Robert Woods vs. GB

DraftKings: $6,800 | FanDuel: $7,600

Brandin Cooks is also a very good option from the Packers-Rams game, but Robert Woods has been a more reliable option to this point. At least one of them should be able to get in the end zone against Green Bay, and their salaries are separated by only $100 on both DraftKings and FanDuel, so you can choose whichever player you prefer.

WR: Randall Cobb @ LAR

DraftKings: $4,900 | FanDuel: $6,100

After not having Randall Cobb in the lineup for a few weeks, the veteran receiver is likely to be a welcome sight as a reliable and trusted target for Aaron Rodgers. LA has had stretches of being bad against opposing wide receivers this season, and Cobb always seems to show up in big games and shootouts like this matchup might turn into. Cobb is a great value for Week 8.

WR: Jordy Nelson vs. IND

DraftKings: $4,700 | FanDuel: $5,300

Targeting guys with opportunities is key, and Jordy Nelson has a great opportunity as Oakland’s clear No. 1 receiver after Amari Cooper’s departure. The Colts have been just average against wide receivers this season (16th in fantasy points allowed), while the Raiders are tenth in passing yards per game. Nelson could get a sizable chunk of the yardage Derek Carr throws for this Sunday.

TE: O.J. Howard @ CIN

DraftKings: $3,900 | FanDuel: $5,800

The Bengals have allowed the most fantasy points per game (PPR) to tight ends this season, and O.J. Howard is one of the most talented tight ends in football. Also, the Buccaneers have struggled defensively, so a lot of points could be scored in this one. This all could mean a very productive day for the former Alabama star.

FLEX: Jordan Howard vs. NYJ

DraftKings: $4,800 | FanDuel: $6,000

Because he hasn’t been putting up big numbers this season, Jordan Howard’s price on DraftKings and FanDuel is about as low as you’ll see it. This week is a prime opportunity to take a chance on the back-to-back 1,100-yard rusher in your lineup. The Jets have been solid against running backs this season, but Latavius Murray is coming off a two-touchdown performance against them. If Matt Nagy sticks with Howard like the Vikings stuck with Murray, it could lead to a touchdown or two on the ground.

D/ST: Steelers vs. CLE

DraftKings: $2,300 | FanDuel: $3,800

The Steelers are tied for second in the NFL with 22 sacks, and they get a home matchup against a rookie quarterback. They shouldn’t burn you, and they have the upside to get over a handful of sacks and some turnovers against Baker Mayfield and company.
