2018 Heisman Watch (Week 10)

Despite a bye week, Tua Tagovailoa moves up one spot in the Heisman rankings as the calendar turns from October to November.

1. Tua Tagovailoa | Alabama QB | Sophomore | Last week: 2

Tua Tagovailoa had a week to get his knee closer to 100% ahead of Saturday night’s huge matchup at LSU under the lights. A big performance by the sophomore quarterback could lead to him being the clear Heisman favorite with a few weeks to go in the season.

Season stats:

70.4% | 2,066 YDS | 25 TD

26 ATT | 123 YDS | 2 TD | 4.7 AVG

2. Kyler Murray | Oklahoma QB | Senior | Last week: 4

The loss to Texas earlier this season obviously hurt, but Kyler Murray has climbed back up to the No. 2 spot in the Heisman rankings with the Sooners looking good. Murray continues to put up massive numbers while leading Lincoln Riley’s offense, and his chances for the prestigious award will likely come down to the success of his team.

Season stats:

73.2% | 2,329 | 28 TD | 3 INT

71 ATT | 474 YDS | 6 TD | 6.7 AVG

3. Dwayne Haskins | Ohio State QB | RS Sophomore | Last week: 2

Dwayne Haskins has a lot of football in front of him as he looks to become another Heisman Trophy winner for the Buckeyes. Haskins will look to put up big numbers against Nebraska this weekend, and it could be the best stat line of the season as Ohio State looks to make a statement after getting blown out by Purdue a couple weeks ago.

Season stats:

71.1% | 2,801 YDS | 30 TD | 5 INT

35 ATT | 56 YDS | 1 TD | 1.6 AVG

4. Jonathan Taylor | Wisconsin RB | Sophomore | Last week: 1

Jonathan Taylor surprisingly received just 11 carries against Northwestern, as he gained 46 yards in his first game of the season without 100 yards. It’s obviously a huge blow to Taylor’s Heisman candidacy with the Badgers losing their third game of the season.

Season stats:

181 ATT | 1,155 YDS | 8 TD | 6.4 AVG

6 REC | 22 YDS | 3.2 AVG

5. Trace McSorley | Penn State QB | RS Senior | Last week: 5

It was a scary situation for Trace McSorley and Penn State when the senior quarterback suffered a leg injury against Iowa, but he thankfully returned and again came up clutch for the Nittany Lions. McSorley. This Saturday versus Michigan might be McSorley’s last chance to make a major Heisman statement this season.

Season stats:

53.0% | 1,629 YDS | 12 TD | 4 INT

110 ATT | 617 YDS | 9 TD | 5.6 AVG
