Yankees sweep the Red Sox and take the top spot in the AL Wild Card.

 

 

Royals’ Salvador Perez breaks Johnny Bench’s record for most home runs in a season by a catcher (46).

 

 

Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier picked up a scouting card that fell out of Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk’s wrist band. Later in the series, Toronto hit Kiermaier with a pitch.
