Season 7 of Game of Thrones is set to debut this summer (likely late June), right in middle of the MLB season. So far, at least 19 teams are set to participate in the promotion.
The extent of the partnership is not entirely clear, but right now the MLB says there will be Game of Thrones theme nights at ballparks, including special collectibles and merchandise.
This is a win-win for both sides. Game of Thrones gets to promote its upcoming epic penultimate season to drive the hype up—and perhaps get new watchers of the show; while the MLB will look to target millennial fans and get them to show up to baseball games.
Now someone just needs to step up to the plate with Jon Snow's sword, Longclaw.
I thought this was the last season of GoT.
