Strengths
In-your-face press cornerback. Very physical at the line of scrimmage and through the route. Keeps receivers on his hip. Quick feet. Locates the football in the air and possesses excellent ball skills. Can turn into a receiver on go routes by using body positioning to shield his man. Good recovery speed. Very tough and competitive. Will come up and give effort as a tackler. Glides in the open field. Great vision and production as a returner.
Weaknesses
Slight frame with short arms. Will struggle to take on bigger runners in the open field. Not a wrap-up tackler. Needs to improve technique before the ball is in the air. Awareness in zone coverage is lacking. Had to leave North Carolina due to character concerns.

Conclusion
Mike Hughes has the competitiveness, ball skills, and physicality to be a dangerous man-to-man cornerback, and he will also contribute as a returner. However, each NFL team will need to decide if any durability or character concerns push him down their draft board.
He was big for UCF this year I know that.
I liked watching him and that squad
I kind of want him now
