Strengths
Prototypical frame with extremely long arms. Great range. Knows how to use his length to keep blockers away from his body. Hands are strong and effective. Natural pass-rushing talent with great bend on the edge. Anticipates the snap and possesses a quick first step. Has no qualms about leveling the quarterback. Attacks the ball if given the opportunity. Doesn’t let blockers get square against him. Played both standing up and with his hand in the dirt. Length allows him to set the edge and make plays in the running game. Seems to enjoy the game and making an impact.
Weaknesses
Could add strength to create more power. Needs to do a better job getting off blocks. Should make more plays as a front-side defender against the run. Struggled when asked to drop back in coverage. Left LSU prior to the 2017 season after shoulder surgery. Overall character and trustworthiness is a concern.

Conclusion
Arden Key has plenty of natural talent and could be a terror on the edge at the next level if he’s committed, but character concerns could give teams pause. I don’t think he’s on the same spectrum as Randy Gregory or Aldon Smith as far as his off-field flaws, but I would need to talk to him to see what makes him click before I was comfortable making him a Day 1 or Day 2 pick—or a pick at all.
So much upside it’s crazy.
Please keep your head straight
Wow I forgot about him. Was potential top 5 before this year.
