Strengths

Relentless pass rusher. Wins with a good combination of effort, strength, and speed. Great bend around the edge. Excellent dip-and-swipe move. Hands are quick and effective. Wraps up with both arms and tries to force a fumble when he gets to the quarterback. Can knock the tackle off balance and collapse the pocket. Above-average pursuit and awareness. Will accelerate to track down runners in the backfield. Has the power and mentality to set the edge in the running game. Is a finisher.

Weaknesses

Doesn’t have top-end athleticism. Lacks lateral quickness. Quick to diagnose but slow to react in the open field. Could struggle if asked to play in space.

NFL Comparisons

Cliff Avril – Shaquil Barrett – Mario Addison

Conclusion

Jeff Holland is a relentless pass rusher that fits as a 3-4 outside linebacker or 4-3 defensive end. He might not have a dominant trait that screams “superstar,” but I think he’s a very similar player to Cliff Avril and could have the same kind of productive career.
