Strengths

Extremely patient runner with brilliant vision. Effortless and gliding runner. Top-end toughness. Fights for extra yardage. Doesn’t shy away from contact. Powerful stiff arm. Easily sheds arm tackles in the open field. Great field awareness. Makes people miss in in space. Excellent footwork. Very explosive. Sudden burst through the hole and in the second level. Can easily accelerate and decelerate. Tremendous balance. Natural hands. Reliable target underneath. Has shown enough as a blocker. Won’t need to leave the field.

Weaknesses

Could be susceptible to big hits with upright running style. Might not have long speed against NFL defenders.

NFL Comparisons

Le’Veon Bell – David Johnson – Jay Ajayi

Conclusion

Johnson is a tough, powerful runner with the patient style of Le’Veon Bell and the body type of David Johnson. I think he is worth a top-15 selection in the draft as a potential offensive centerpiece.
