Strengths
Extremely explosive and tough runner. Top-end acceleration and quickness. Possesses home-run speed. Phenomenal vision with the burst and decisiveness to compliment it. Great feet. Very fluid hips. Keeps his shoulders square and easily side steps. Ideal patience. Follows his blockers and sees everything in front of him. Uses subtle shakes in the open field to avoid would-be tacklers. Effective stiff arm. Stays balanced on the sideline. Defenders could lose him behind the offensive line. Played in a pro-style system. Can run between the tackles or outside. Team-first player and high character individual on and off the field.
Weaknesses
Concerning injury history. Currently recovering from a torn ACL suffered on final college play. Previously plagued by ankle issues. Smaller back at under five-foot-nine. Limited receiving production considering his skillset with 49 catches in four years.
NFL comparison
Phillip Lindsay – Bryce Love will almost certainly be drafted as a complimentary back, but like Lindsay, the speed, explosiveness, and natural ability as a runner could help him climb the depth chart and earn a significant role in the league.
Conclusion
Overall, Bryce Love is a game-breaker at running back, but the injury concerns will likely push him to Day 3 for NFL teams. That said, I’ve seen more than enough out of Love when he’s on the field to value him as a second-round pick, and he’d likely be the top running back in the class if health wasn’t a factor.
Media is a bunch of idiots for having Love barely ranked.
Tiny beast but hope he doesn’t get hurt all the time.
Someone will get a steal.
Top 60.. no.
If he’d there 4th-5th round I’d want him. Perfect compliment that can be the starter if needed.
Extremely fast on the field.
