Tremendous size. Almost looks like a monster safety or linebacker in terms of build/movement. Long arms and length in general. Remarkable range as a tackler. Great overall athleticism. Very good acceleration and closing burst. Feet are bouncy/light for his size. Excellent first step quickness at the snap. Inside move is very effective as a pass rusher. Has a spin move in the arsenal. Able to use length to keep blockers off his frame. Has experience creating pressure on stunts. Can drop back in zone coverage. Plays with quality strength and should be able to get stronger. Will line up on either side of the formation and can put his hand in the dirt.

Instincts and awareness are lacking. Sub-par reaction time and play recognition. Would like to see hands and rip move used more often. Needs to be better setting the edge against the run. Too often sucked inside. Doesn’t give relentless effort away from the action. Often appears to be less than 100% based on how he moves around at times. Extensive injury history.

Overall, Lewis is the prototype edge defender in terms of build and athleticism, but he appears to be a high-risk, high-reward target on Day 2 based on injury history and on-the-field inconsistency. If the ceiling is reached, Lewis should be an impact pass rusher that can fit in any scheme.
