Strengths
Prototype size/build. Smooth overall route runner. Excellent change-of-direction skills for the position. Very good acceleration. Plus overall athleticism. Extremely crisp breaks at the top of routes. Able to run double moves effectively (corner-post/post-corner). Weapon on shallow crossing routes. Knows how to find holes running through coverage. Easy hands catcher. Great timing to high point the ball. Physical runner after the catch. Gets to top speed in a hurry with the ball in his hands. Does not go down easily. Has experience lining up all over the place. Willing and effective run blocker. Extremely productive (14 touchdowns in final season).
Weaknesses
Top speed is average. Would like to see him create more consistent separation against tight man coverage. Can struggle with jams/physicality. Needs to be better catching the ball in traffic. More elusive when given space than he is in close quarters. Can get beat inside as a blocker when defenders flash across his face. Faced lower level of competition.

Conclusion
Overall, Trautman has the skillset to develop into one of the league’s best tight ends, but he will need to improve his physicality as a route runner to reach his ceiling. I think he has a strong case to be the second tight end drafted and should come off the board on Day 2.
Sounds like another mover Positive Pete
Nothing wrong with that!
Tight end is weird this year.
We’ll see where Trautman lands.
If we trade Ertz….
