Strengths

Phenomenal hands. Tremendous concentration and hand-eye coordination. Superb body control. Plays much bigger than his size when he attacks the ball in the air. Makes spectacular catches look routine. Snatches the ball away from his body. Very reliable target in traffic. Fearless with defenders around him. Works back to the football. Technically sound as a route runner. Quick feet and great footwork. Switches gears in his routes. Creates easy separation on comebacks. Throttles down on comebacks and curls. Finds the hole and sits down against zone coverage. Deceptive on double moves. Can line up out wide or in the slot. Effective on bubble screens. Tough competitor. Physical run blocker. Brings added value as a punt returner. Has had multiple years of top production.

Weaknesses

Lacks elite speed/explosiveness. Short arms and wingspan. Struggles a bit to get off the press. Routes can be redirected by length.

Conclusion

Overall, Proche is a very competitive receiver with great hands, remarkable body control, and an impressive ability to attack the ball in the air. If he were a few inches taller, Proche would arguably be the top receiver in the class, but he’s still worth selecting early on Day 2 because of what he brings to the table as a weapon both out wide and in the slot.
