Strengths

Good overall size/frame. Very balanced and plays with tremendous leverage. Plus mobility/athleticism. Phenomenal understanding/feel for positioning as a run blocker. Extremely strong hands. Very technical in terms of hand positioning. Difficult for defenders to disengage from. Will turn and shield off defenders to create a running lane. Quick to recover if jarred by length. Gets his hands on a defenders frame and can take them to the ground. Able to push defenders aside with a grab-and-throw using one hand. Great awareness in pass protection. Keeps a stable base as a pass blocker. Stays patient and doesn’t overextend. Easily stays in front of guys. Sells screens and play-action/misdirection. High intelligence and leadership. Three-year starter at center.

Weaknesses

Below-average length. Lack of length shows up when trying to engage in space. Could be better sustaining second-level blocks. More of a sealer than driver. Looks a bit stiff on further pulls. Left-handed center could lead to quarterback needing to adjust.

Conclusion

Overall, Humphrey is an intelligent and technically-sound center that best fits in a zone-blocking scheme at the next level. He should draw second-round consideration as a potential ten-year starter in the middle of a team’s offensive line.
