Strengths

High football character and intelligence. Quality size with good length for the slot. Phenomenal aggression and physicality. Huge hitter for his size. Tough. Tone-setter based on style of play. Throws his body around and chops ball-carriers down. Extremely twitchy and springy. Tremendous acceleration and quickness. Exceptional reaction time. Flies to the action in front of him. Outstanding instincts in coverage. Quick feet and great mirror skills in man coverage from the slot. Very competitive at the catch point. Gets an arm in with good timing to breakup passes. Plenty of versatility with experience at safety. Find-a-way-to-get-him-down tackler. Exceptional burst as a blitzer from the slot. Natural playmaker with great ball skills.

Weaknesses

Average top speed. Can struggle to get off blocks when engaged. Needs to keep head up as a tackler. Would like to see better angles at times when coming up to tackle from the safety spot. Play recognition versus the run can be inconsistent. Much more impactful as an attacking slot than playing deep. Not very effective coming up to make goal-line stops at safety.

Conclusion

Overall, Molden is an instinctive, aggressive defensive back that plays best in the slot and closer to the line of scrimmage. The physicality and intangibles will boost an NFL secondary and could have him off the board early on Day 2.
