Strengths
Prototype size in terms of height/weight. Extremely versatile with experience in a variety of safety alignments. Excellent overall play recognition. Outstanding reaction time. Reads the quarterback very well from centerfield. Maximizes range as a deep safety with intelligence and size. Gets his head around to find the ball. Great ball skills and production. Very quick to break on throws. Good ability to play the ball at the catch point. Fluid movement skills in coverage. Exceptional in zone coverage from the slot. Quick to erase flat routes underneath. Reads/anticipates routes in coverage. Fast getting in position to make a run stop off the edge. Shows some strength taking on blocks. Has shown a willingness to tackle. Seems to surprise opponents with how fast he closes. Gets to the quarterback as a blitzer from deep or off the edge. Two interceptions of Justin Fields in 2020 matchup. Looks to do damage with the ball in his hands.
Weaknesses
Average top speed. Too much of a shoulder tackler. Whiffs on too many tackles in general. Needs to clean up tackling technique to make up for limited arm length (less room for error). Ejected for throwing a punch versus Michigan in 2020.

Conclusion
Overall, Johnson is a versatile safety that combines intelligence, size, and reaction time to make plays in a variety of spots on the backend. He could be an eventual impact player if the tackling issues are cleaned up.
Good thing the Jets are getting Wilson not Field. Picked off twice by this guy?
NFL IS LOW ON FIELDS.
